I'm heading off to school this fall and I am going to buy a new Macbook, the $1300 one ($1200 with my school discount) and I'm wondering if they will update it soon or if it will stay the same model through the summer. My brother's a computer guy and says that Apple usually updates their stuff in order of iMac, Macbook Pro then Macbook, but I found on google news that the Macbooks already have been updated, just a few weeks ago. Is that true? I just don't want to buy it then within a few days see them updated and I miss out on free updated stuff.
The MacBook was just updated last month, so you're good on the hardware side. They are updating the OS in a few months, though if you want the computer now it's probably not worth waiting for. http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/#MacBook
Remember, they are now running the promotion where you can also get an iPod Nano for free, or $199.00 towards a higher level iPods (not the iPhone though). With the money you saved there you can get Leopard when it comes out
I plan on paying $50 and getting a 30G iPod with it. What do you mean by software, Nerroth? Whatever comes with it I guess that's all I can think of, my brother said there are some programs he might put on there, I'm not sure what though, OS X maybe? Is that standard?
