Actually, there are videos on YouTube demonstrating the figure which shows that the head is able to still look left and right with the mask on. Granted you get no up or down movement but a lot of figures only have a swivel anyway. They can't all have ball joints... and even some of the ones that do, don't really have enough range to use them properly.

I do think 3rd parties will make some money off of such a thing.

There's a KO set of Japanese Headmasters in a boxset for roughly $100.00 or so before shipping and it seems to have a lot of interest, especially for G1 collectors. Definitely those who've lost their Spikes and Zarak figures.

If a 3rd party group makes a boxset of highly detailed, correctly sized, noggins that are non transforming and come with accurate weapons or something along those lines, I'll bet a large number of us would snap those up in a heartbeat. Heck, make the heads able to fit in the cockpits like the current Headmasters Hasbro is producing and that'll definitely help sell 'em.

I've preordered Takara version and I appreciate his lavender colour, for my tastes ,also for bot design will display very well.
In bot mode has good proportions, then has a cybertronian cannon alt mode(finally!)and for the other transformation, not very interested,so no problem for the essential design in this 3rd mode.

The problem is the headmaster head from behind and sides, very bad,but I always display all of my figures in front with no rotated neck,so nothing changes and then, the thing will not visible.
Also,Takara headmaster figure is more similar to Megs than Hasbro version,again,+1.

Waiting for reviews,at the end could be one of the best Galvatron of recent years, and he already beats the 2008 version.

I absolutely love design of Decepticons for their usual more"warrior" bot design and earth or cybertronian military vehicles as alt mode(in my TF collection excluding very few figures as some Primes,I essentially collect the purple faction and MP Shockwave for dimensions and design is my favorite there) ,so at the end the toy, despite a flaw on head, answers very, very well to things that I'm asking.
