Give me the entire season 1 episode 1 cast and I'll die a happy man. I find it really hard to pick and chose between most of those, I only really disliked Scorponok from that lot.

I swear it's in the show (but I can't find a picture at present) but either Cheetor or Tigatron use the Tail-Gun at some stage. Regardless, it'd be great if Cheetor came with two guns.

Yeah, Tigatron only had the one gun, but Cheetor would swap the gut for the butt whenever he showed up, even in Tigatron's introductory episode, Cheetor has it at the end when they gang up on Megs.

Your not the only one. I liked her more before Blackarachnia became a maximal. I was saddened when, at that time, she and Tigratron died.

If they do MP Tigratron, they have to do a MP Airazor to team up together.

What size would you guys speculate this MP Cheetor would be beside Primal? Smaller, of course, but about a head smaller or up to Primal's chest?

MP Primal is said to be 19cm tall, so maybe something around 15cm.

Unless they copped out and made him scale with MP10 (which would technically be accurate...)

Part of me does wish that the Beast Wars masterpieces were like micromasterpieces scaled kinda-sorta with the main line. I like what they do with small scale engineering, and they'd be affordable, pocket scale BW characters.

Cheetor's probably my least favorite Beast Wars character, but the fact that Primal wasn't a one-off is exciting. I might be tempted to spring for an MP Dinobot or Megatron. Of course, Code of Hero requires it to be a Transmetal Megatron rather than Season 1, but I'm... patient.

    Yesss.

A character like Cheetor is always likely to get a Deluxe-sized toy in a normal line (Generations etc). But this is Masterpiece. We'd want him to be bigger than your normal toy.

If they can make a deluxe-sized Cheetor that's great, why not just release him in the Generations line? He's got to have a bit more to him that makes him a Masterpiece figure. And at 15cm, he's almost two inches shorter than Primal annyway.

Because deluxe sized =/= deluxe quality. After all, look at Bumblebee.

Are you familiar at all with Gundam? They base their models on grades and scale. So for example you can have one robot that's available in the simplistic high grade and be 1/144 scale, but also be in the far more complex and detailed real grade line at the exact same size in 1/144. Likewise a model that's a high grade but based on a large design could be as big as a small master grade, but not nearly as advanced.

That's like saying why release any MP as an MP when you could just release them as a Voyager or Leader.

I was looking at it more as an economics thing.

Look at the transformation of Generations Rattrap, specifically the robot legs. That's some damn clever engineering on a small scale, on a deluxe toy. From what we've seen of MP Primal's transformation, it doesn't have anything more advanced than that in it. So if you've got a deluxe-sized toy, with engineering of no greater complexity than Generations Rattrap, what makes it a Masterpiece toy?

Perhaps the rendering of the fur and likeness to the show model is the only thing that separates the two.

Gen Rattrap is the exception, not the rule, though. Same with Rhinox.

Also, MPs are a lot more about the finish and accuracy. An MP Cheetor, even at Deluxe-ish size, would (ideally) have far more elaborate and accurate painting. Plus, Rattrap lacks in certain articulation. He has fewer parts. Complexity isn't everything. Again, I refer you to classics Bumblebee versus his MP.

If you made Cheetor bigger than he should be, well than you're just ruining the scale, which would be one of the major things the MP line would have going for it.

It would be great to see a full covering of 'cheetah' on the underside, so there are no (or as little) robot parts showing as possible. It could fold up into the front beast legs as they flip over Cheetor's back for robot-mode. That would be some remarkable engineering.

I know it was all in the lead-up to the Fes event, but some more of those videos from TT from time to time, showing off the designs, would be a nice on-going thing.

I'm still a bit miffed abt how this reveal can even be divisive ... I always assumed the core of TF fandom was my age (just turned 30), which was old enough to love G1 as a tot but still loved Beast Wars as a 5th Grader transitioning into preteen-dom .... Guess having younger siblings assisted the flow w/me ...
