Guys I'm completely blown away by that, I really don't have the words to describe how amazing what you are doing is.

    Hello
I got my Spinout this morning. First thing getting him out of the box, this happens:

I think the pin is missing but I'm not sure.

My first impressions taking him out of the box:
Paintwork isn't too bad. There are a couple of blobs/spots but he is OK. Paintwork on his face is very good and clean.
Balljoints are OK but the hinge on his neck is very floppy.
The plastic has a raw, unfinished feel to it, with many rough edges.

It may be that I got super lucky and received a passable copy. Other people's may be much worse. I don't know at this point.

I write another post in more detail when I have transformed him. I don't have Sunsurge and probably never will own him, so I can't compare the two.

    Catch you later :)

Epic fail right out of the box. Really sorry to hear that Ruizu, hope that's easily fixed and the end of your troubles with him.

Thanks, but I'm afraid the trouble continues :(

I'm handling him very gently and his foot and other wheel falls apart with no force on my part

I cannot get either wheel to stay on.

    OK, final update:

-a screw literally fell off while I was transforming him.
-he can't do a "side kick" because his legs are floppy
-he has paint scraped off his spoiler.
-he struggles to stand by himself.
-it's not visible in my photos, but the yellow used for his painted parts is a different shade than the bare plastic (more of an orangey shade). Might not bother some people but it spoils the consistency the figure's appearance.

The only part of him that doesn't feel floppy/loose and hasn't fallen apart on me is his arms.

I hate to say this, but the last thing I handled of such poor quality was Ollie. His plastic quality feels very similar, very light and brittle.

Sorry Omnigonix :(  I know this sucks to hear but I figure that brutal honesty is is more helpful to potential buyers than sugarcoated lies. He's junk, sorry :(

This is the only thing that is redeeming about this whole experience:

Might get a bit part doubling as mecha neck in a cheap z list he-man remake.
That paint is really noticeable in the last pic, its not even close.
Heartbreaking to see this, what are you gonna do with him?

WOW and double WOW, that's some stand up sh#t right there!!!:jawdropper:

At the discounted price tho, I "think" I could make this guy work. Hell, buy two for spares, or try to make one "good" one.

I never had either, but I've heard the stories, is this the next Kronos/Ollie?

Thinking about sending him back and using the money for something else.

Oh, and I discovered another problem upon checking the tray: one of the little plastic pieces that cover his headlights is loose. This is the gift that keeps on giving :lol

It's truly atrocious, I thought Ollie was bad.

You guys are great! I know a few retailers that would have just sent what they got at the higher price and called it a day. Kudos to the Dojo!

Looks like you're missing a headlight cover too.

Probably best, I know if it was me seeing something that bad on a shelf would constantly needle at me, so cut and run and get something better.
    You deserve better.

Not trying to derail the Spinout hatefest, which is apparently justified, but I think Toy Dojo just became my "go to" etailer. I've never heard of a retailer handling a situation like this, most wouldn't even have bothered with a QC check, they would have just packed those bad boys up and shipped them out. Not only did they check multiple units, but determined they weren't up to snuff, warned everyone, and dropped the price for those willing to take the risk. Not only that, but over in the Fans Toys Forager topic Toy Dojo popped in and let everyone know they had them instock and ready to ship. I quickly placed and order, which was somewhat late in afternoon, and got a shipping notice later that evening, it will arrive tomorrow. Lastly the Dojo is relatively close to me geographically, which equals low cost Priority Mail and quick shipping times. Bye BBTS and your ridiculously long "warehouse" times.

Anyway, back on topic. Sorry for you guys who have been patiently waiting this guy out. Sucks that QC is so low. I had him on pre-order forever, but finally ditched it and got a Sunsurge.

Thanks for sharing your unlucky experience with us.
You can tell in your pics the yellows are different.
I really feel for ya, hurts when that excitement of a great figure becomes the disappointing end of a big spend.

I wont say, I hope i get a good one, because then its not fair on those that get shitty ones since we all generally pay the same price for these brand new things.

I really feel a little deflated after your post since mines already in the mail, somewhere crossing some body of water to this continent.

I feel like something like this is gonna happen:
Well, I guess you could argue it comes in a really nice looking package...
--accidently drops Spinout package on ground and box explodes into 100 pieces-- :(

I hope you have a better experience than I did.
Maybe other people will fare better, but everything posted so far has been negative, so it doesn't fill me with hope. Please post your experience here too :)

I've already emailed Chimungmung and I'm waiting for a reply. I'm going to send him back. I guess I'll wait for another company to tackle Sunstreaker.

So far...yes, it feels like he is 2016's Kronos :lol  Or at least my copy is.

    Thank you :thumb

Well, I appreciate the Dojo's candor. I'm willing to give him a shot at the reduced price, as I'm just after a good-looking bot mode for my shelf. Even if I have to work on him and treat him more like a custom, it's an above average starting point at a tolerable price.

And for the record, I'm a proud owner of Kronos and Ollie. Never transformed kronos, and I only transformed ollie once to get him in bot mode, but I love the hell out of both of them. They look spectacular. No, the QC on those isn't great, but I'm not taking these out into the sandbox for rough play. As display pieces they are more than sufficient. If spinout falls in that category, I'll be satisfied.

And much to the chagrin of the gleeful Sunsurge cheerleaders, even with bad QC, Spinout doesn't look like a duck. QC problems can be fixed. Ugly is forever. ;)

    ^^^THIS...!!!

I decided to pick one up from the Dojo. I figure for that price I could probably fix him up to an acceptable level.

...but again, for a shop to be that up front about a product they're selling...and then discounting the price accordingly is just beyond words.
    HUGE respect for Eddie!!!

This! I placed my very first order with them for Stomp. Shipped out same day. I just ordered forager(after they popped in the thread)I've always ordered from the Big Bad as well (unless TT MP- Ami-Ami),but I think I will stick to the Dojo. They are also fairly close geographically, and their prices are comparable to every other US retailer. I order two of each figure,so as long as they keep up the great service with me...it'll be double the pleasure, double the fun. :lol

Mines from Chimungmung also and I have none of your problems on my Spinout.
