I think it was in this thread when it was just Transistor, before Doubledeck was announced. Wherever it was, it was not a place talking about Headmasters at all, just someone randomly mentioned Blaster dying and being turned into Twincast! Just completely caught me off guard!

You just can't trust anyone.

I'm sad we are just getting slightlt recolors of SG Ramhorn and Ratbat, I already own those! The rest are nice, but when do we get SG Steeljaw?

It's so lame they're re-releasing SG Ramhorn and Ratbat with this mould. It kind of punishes those of us who sprung for their earlier releases. What about SG Steeljaw? ( was really, REALLY hoping for SG Steeljaw) How about doing a proper deco for SG Slamdance? Or SG Rosanna? I'm sure there are other SG redecos I'm overlooking here.

@Psychoshi - I'm glad that I'm not the only one who had trouble with that part of the mould. I felt like a damned fool when I bent that part badly out of place.

 

I notice that Ramhorn and Badbat are decoed slightly differently this time. So TECHNICALLY they are still unique... This new Rhinohorn has gold weapons, the general release had silver.

I just noticed the collector cards that come with the new toys have pictures of the old general release versions of the toys on them! Ha!

A minor variant is not unique enough. KFC has been in the game long enough to know that.

Ratbat is a a real letdown too since those of us who bought that were also saddled with an unwanted cage because it came bundled in a multipack. So it's like "screw you, original buyers!" times two. Of course they also did that with the overall first buys of many of their products. But, still. They really need to learn.

Ironically, I'm still likely to buy this since I do legit want their other three tapes. It's just a real letdown. The only way it could have been worse is if they had included their take on Wingthing, making my entire previous purchase worthless.

 

Gold weapon Rhinohorn is a cool variant, but the Badbat is disappointing. It is he not only still in stock in many places, but changing the colors of the hinges is a silly variant. They could have changed the weapon color too.

I hope this means SG Iron Paw will come out seperately.

 

We'll have to agree to disagree on that. IMO, Keith could have picked a better repaint and also not slapped early adopters in the face.

I'll eat my words if this has been retooled to be standard cassette size. That'd be worth a rebuy.

I think the theme was to do the same 5 cassettes that came in the SG Blaster box set, so I understand that part. Still, even a silver weapon variant would have been a step up for Badbat. I hope the new cassettes have better tampos too. That would help make them better

 

That part is clear.

What's also clear is that it's pretty lame. He's under no obligation to redo that set. So, as someone who bought all those guys individually I feel this is a lame move on his part.

A better variant would be to have paint apps to simulate the stickers you could apply to those figures. I still feel like it would be lame, but it's be a little something different and in tune with the set.
