I've never bought a 3rd party toy in my life, but if Hasbro has stopped producing IDW inspired figures, then I might just pick Tarn up (maybe after a review or two). Definitely fills a void that needs filling...I just worry that all 3rd party manufactures are going to start jumping on the bandwagon and we will end up getting 10 versions of this character in production by the end of the year!

 

Why not purchase one then, funds willing? I can guarantee you the quality will be there, as MMC is know for their solidly built figures. If something does happen, they are also known for their high quality customer support (try asking Takara for replacement parts for your MP-09 or other figures!)

I can assure you Hasbro will continue to make IDW or at least IDW-..ish, type of figures for the foreseeable future. That isn't to say they won't be undersized, lacking articulation, or hollow as per usual.

Give something a try. I highly recommend MMC's other two DJD figures. Looks like they stepped right off the page.

 

I'll always respect someone waiting for a couple reviews before purchasing a product. That's just basic consumer intelligence. To have not bought any 3P figures to date, that is what I would question. There are many that are of unarguably higher quality/detail/engineering than HasTak products and fill voids in the official lineup. To refuse out of some sort of confused loyalty to HasTak is only hurting your collection, especially when the figure isn't some cheap knock-off of an existing HasTak product but is actually a wholly-original product from the ground up based on a concept that has only existed on paper/digital artwork (comics).

 

I can't wait to see the alternate head since I'm sure MMC heard the leak of who Tarn is by now. That name reveal was just WTF. Kinda crazy that under it all, that

Considering whats happening in the recent comics, there are plenty of scenes one can renact with kaon, vos and tarn...

 

What size class is he?

 

Wow I can't believe how good Tarn looks, he might just be MMC greatest creation, Overlords alt modes look kinda shit though, looks like I'll only be getting the DJD from them and not all the p6ers.

 

On Mastermind Creations's website, Kultur is listed as 8" tall. Impactor and Kaon are 7" figures and fit in with voyagers, so Tarn will be a bit taller than a voyager. He should have great shelf presence.

Cynicus/Vos was my first MMC product. I found him so impressive that I decided to go in for any DJD figures that they make. I cannot wait to have the leader of the DJD with Kaon and Vos. Of course, I'm also blown away by their Overlord. The detail and accuracy to IDW are astounding.
