I'm amazed how much all the "stuff from Prince's vault" stuff is being believed/retweeted. If even 1/10 of the reported things were true, it'd still be unbelievable.

Watch the embedded Kevin Smith Youtube video on the source article page and you'll realize it's probably all true. Prince stored away all kinds of music and stuff that never made it public.

The list is confusing because a lot of what's on there has been known about for years and some of what's on there does seem obviously fake (Minnesota Hockey Hair?). The fact that Prince was eccentric and a very prolific artist who was known to be constantly working on and shelving projects further confuses things.

Still mad about that basketball game Charlie Murphy ? Let it go man, it was 30 years ago. Prince and his crew beat you fair and square and those "fruity picks" were all legit.

I mean, just to show there were no hard feelings Prince even made you guys breakfast afterwards.

    Prince/O(+> Transformers-themed album

YES!!!! I'm a HUGE fan of the late great musical genius from Minneapolis. I would love to hear it-and I remember a cool song InSoc had out in the 80s that sampled James Brown's, " The Big Payback" and "Star Trek". Prince watched a lot of movies and I'm quite sure he was aware of our favorite citizens from Cybertron. However, with all the drama going on supposedly with his Paisley Park estate, it may be a long while before we can hear it. Wonder if he created it similar to the Batman soundtrack he did? As far as the list, some of the items are real, but I also bet some of the list items are fake.

Pretty much. Some of this stuff is real stuff that's known to be in the vault, but at least half the list is all a tongue-in-cheek joke. There is no Prince Transformers concept album, as much ass as that may have kicked.

I take it with a grain of salt without some decent confirmation. It would be interesting to see some of the more off the wall projects corroborated by those he allegedly collaborated with. Since this is unreleased unpromoted music the silly names and concepts are not unbelievable. Most people, even out of artists, have at least some sense of humor in their personal lives. An eccentric very nerdy musician having played around with some eccentric concepts and having humorous in-jokes with working titles isn't exactly stretching credulity.

What a surprise. I didn't listen to much of his music but this could be fun.

There's no way this is real. A collaboration with Ween and Ozzy? A concept album about Nick Bockwinkel with Bob Mould? No fucking way.

Anyone who's interested in writing comedy or satire, this one is a pretty good model to emulate - start with things that are reasonable and believable, sprinkle in more and more weirdness, until the joke:realistic ratio is flipped.

I'm of two minds about this.

On the one hand, it's always interesting to hear/read things that artists never released. On the other hand, I feel like sometimes there's a reason they never released/finished these projects, usually because maybe they weren't up to their standard. Kinda like how "Go Set a Watchman" kinda tarnished the memory of "To Kill a Mockingbird" and Harper Lee. Sometimes we're better off not knowing.

ONE OF US, ONE OF USSSSS! Finding a Road Rage (Little Red Corvette) with his estate would confirm it.

I would love to hear Prince squealing "push the little daisies and make them come up." LOL.

I'm curious about what was on this. Hopefully it sees the light of day sometime. Prince was a legend and I liked Information Society when I was in grade school. I still rock out to "Pure Energy" every now and then.
