welp, just got these guys opened up. Never had a War in Pocket set...to be honest still on the fence on keeping them. They look fantastic, and a love song to the 80's box art. What is fun is they can match the box art poses rather well. One thing with Scourge is that his alt mode can't store his pistol. Solid plastic and nice tight joints though.

 

I don't get it... so they're good figures, but you don't want them?   Maybe it has something to do with being an MP collector or something?
Other than Medilance, DX9 figures have been pretty solid so far. I'm hoping the weird shoulder panel on Medilance was a one time design error (though, I have no idea how the figure got messed up from their first version, not-Ironhide). The whole thing has kind of soured me on DX9 products, unfortunately... (Plus, they really should have locked down the shoulders on Salmoore! What was with that??).

 

Because I saw the opportunity to troop build I bought 2 sets.

Now I have Cyclonus/Scourge and their underlings.

If anyone wants a Galvatron, pm me.

My set arrived, box is gorgeous, the guys look great and Cyclonus has a broken left leg in the box - snapped at the thigh swivel, which was more or less my point in buying these things all over again. No sign of outward damage or what caused it beyond my usual luck.

So......back across the sea they go.

Bummed.

 

It is more the scale. For me this is a novelty set. They are fantastic for what they are, but the legends scale, while an expanding market, still isn't complete enough for me. Still up if going to display with the box, in the box, or just flip to a more welcome home lol.

Between official and 3rd party they've covered a large amount of figures. They've even got an Overlord on the market.

Possibly the first Overlord release, official or otherwise, since the 1980's.

 

For me I'm a massive fan of all things small. Don't know why; it just happens. I've found these somewhere for a good price so I'll probably eventually pick one up.

 

Having compared the original releases to the new releases there are some minor changes which make a major difference.

Scourge is largely unchanged except the color but he comes with a gun (corrected on the original if you bought Hulkie)
Cyclonus' main improvement is now the jet cockpit plugs into the back of the head so it all sits together nicely.
Galvatron's face looks a lot more like the MP scaled figure and just tops off what is a decent legends version of this character.

If you own the original 3 there's not much reason to spring again unless you want to troop build.

 

TCP charged me for these guys earlier today. Unfortunately I won't see it until early June, after the Moonbase Diabattles drops.

 

Sent my broken example back and while on his site noticed Tony Chi/Chimungmung selling a single, bagged Plague. If anyone wants to army build that looks like it's now possible.

 

Not really interested in an army of Plagues but do want the main three Unicrons to go with my Combiners (official and 3rd party) besides that Tyrant will look good next to Rex and Ordin.....just wish he was an inch taller....just so he can go mono e mono with IF City Commander.....

 

I might have gone for that if i had known what the single pack was or where. Might have got mightron in process to save on shipping. Alas piss poor information from 3parties.

 

Well I haven't seen or heard any mention of it before now but it's listed as a single bagged release on his site so I informed everyone in here as there isn't anywhere else to post it and it's not exactly front page news.

 

Does anyone know if these are in stock anywhere still? I've had a pre-order for them at BBTS since November, and I'm getting a bit impatient to hit ship on my PoL.

 

...as have i; i suspect these are scheduled for a late-spring drop...

 

Grrrrr. I've started to see a few things from DX9 get back in stock at various sites, so I'm hoping these follow suit.

 

Same story here. None on ebay. There's a Retro Campaigners set, but I am not sure if it is in hand any more. :/

 

Is there anyone that has this in stock? Or maybe someone with this three pack that wants to sell it? I've been looking around on the internet for them and I can't find them anywhere. I really love the look and I adore the DX9 War in Pocket designs.
