No, they don't want to confuse kids. It'd over complicate a line that's supposed to be relatively simple for the kiddies.

Yeah, have the scientist doing it played by Jeremy Irons. Have the little headmasters running around doing horrible things, then returning to their bodies, and said autobots and decepticons having flashbacks to what the headmasters did, slowly driving them mad.

Not to mention it's entirely possible we may not get these characters any other way than with the Headmaster gimmick. We're getting into obscure territory - a lot of the '87 characters aren't even known by the fandom itself, let alone kids.

Those are clearly not picsmof the actual toys; just prep stuff.
He'll have some hollowness like every other non Mp figure. As far as I'm concerned he looks way better than Hexatron so that's already a plus. And it's one of the few instances where I don't mind the Rebirth head too much. As for being blocky looking he should be; Sixshot's always been blocky.

I agree cw devastator is the bees knees (herculese is too small and complicated and the newere third party one being to danm big) but unfortunatley i can totaly see sixshot not being a sixchanger. As for blocky to each there own some times it works some rimes it dosent. Sixshot is a guy who needs to cut a unique silloette

    Wow.

I'm happy that we have a Megatron and a Galvatron in the same size class, although i'd have preferred them to be Leader sized. I'm looking forward to Hot Rod, but I wish we could get a decent Leader Rodimus Prime already.

The rest look great, except for Hero Prime. Very happy with Titans Return so far. Can't wait to see what sort of magic Takara does with these figures.

By "magic" you mean "five extra paint apps they charge double the domestic price for". :p

CHUG has at least one Megatron and Prime a year on average, this isn't really a break from the trend.

Same reason Prime was released before Motormaster - Megatron will sell, so that immediately provides return on the investment of the mold.

The more adventurous uses can then follow suit.

Though the opposite logic was used with Sentinel Prime/Astrotrain - less known character first, THEN the popular guy.

Popular with the fandom maybe (to an extent, he hasn't been seen since G1 and newer fans who maybe haven't seen G1 or didn't watch it far enough to get to season 3, won't really know him or be familiar) but not with kids.

Both are pretty much unknown as a whole tbh. Blitzwing has at least been featured in Animated.

Megatron doesn't have his signature Fusion cannon.
Doublecross looks good, and his tranformation looks interesting.
    Optimus doesn't look enticing....yet
Getaway looks good for a repaint.
If they actually makes Sixshot...that's a WOW!
    Still waiting for Rodimus

I'm fairly certain that Sixshot will end up with 6 modes. I'm also fairly certain half of them will be very simple conversions, something like: flip figure over, move one piece, oh a tank turn into an armoured car. But really G1 Sixshot was basically just that so I'm not expecting much better other than an articulated bot mode.

Yeah, he's just a bit bigger than Leader-size.

Speaking for myself though, I never really liked Hexatron. Aside from the robot mode, none of his other modes are particularly impressive and the abundance of lines to try to create more detail is off-putting.

I hope Hasbro/Takara's version is more successful in those aspects.

I think the reason Sentinel is being pushed first might include being a bright colored spaceship/TRAIN and also being the big bad of the line.
Kids love bright colors and they love trains & spaceships, Every retailer is defienetly going to get the first wave too, so it makes sense to put the figure you think would sell more there.
