I've got Sunsurge and like him. I'm getting this guy also. If he makes me happy in hand I'll display him in bot mode and Sunsurge in alt mode.

It's not completely clear to me which has the better bot mode, but I think Sunsurge steals the show in car mode easily (even with the funky back end).

I think I like Spinout's bot better, but I'm not positive (especially since they have yet to give us a phot with the head i plan on using- looked wonderful in the grey proto).

 

Spinout's chest is just so much better in my eyes. Sunsurge's fake chest might technically be more toon accurate, but that's only because Sunbow used a shoddy character model to cut corners. If they'd had the talent and ability to make the chest an accurate windshield, it would've looked just like Spinout.

 

Give the first one to Bobby Skullface!!!! That'll make or break it in a heartbeat in my book.

 

Worst, worst, worst case scenario.... I get a sick blaster for SunSurge or someone else.

I said the same thing pages ago.. He will pick that figure apart for the good and bad and be blunt and honest about it..

 

The face looks much better in these pics than in the other ones. Guess the lighting was throwing me off. Can't wait for the possible Police version (if it ever comes out, that is).

 

Just my 2 cents - While I admire bobbyskullface for his honesty , but sometimes he can be extremely brutal on the toys unnecessarily. To me, nothing pleases him.

Back on topic - I have him POed since the longest time and I am waiting to photograph him to oblivion. The new set of photos were not flattering and I am surprised Omni sent it to some guy who cant take good shots of his figures.

 

Honestly if I were a company, I would send a preproduction sample to him. And whatever he said, I would just say "yes sir".

This. They're not bad for someone who is just taking photos of their toys for fun, but as a stock photo (which is supposed to be as flattering as possible to entice potential buyers) they're not quite up to snuff. Should have sent it to the person who created Quakeblast's stock photos  

 

That and maybe pick a better example of your product instead of a chipped up figure.

 

I doubt the finished release version will have a badly painted windshield like this one had.

this is true. however, with him being balls out brutally honest, I don't have to be then. I can take his criticisms with a grain of salt because I know previous figures he's reviewed and where we've disagreed on certain points (like minor paint nitpicks that don't mean too much to me). So when he reviews a new figure I can pretty much weed out what my major gripes would be, instead of everything he comments on.

The good for me is that he's brutally honest about every one of his gripes. Whether or not his gripe is a concern to you, is another matter. At least he puts all the issues on the table so you can decide for yourself, and I find that the most beneficial out of many of the current youtube reviewers.

 

and that's why he's my #1 to go to when it comes to 3p reviewer.
For the kinda of money people spend to collect, we need to be brutal in the review especially on China quality products at American Dollar. And of course things changed for the worse when it comes to production but nothing changes on the cost side. Kudos to Bobby.

 

Very much this. At least you're informed. I feel most reviewers, go over transformation and articulation. While great, I can mostly see that from still shots.

The purpose for a review (to me) is to have someone tell me things that can only be found in-hand. "This is loose, this is tight, this is fiddly etc."

 

I like the look of him for the most part. The chest is WAAY too big but I could get over that. What I can't get over is the damn intakes behind his head.... they look f'ing ridiculous. ... if those weren't so skinny and just "straight up" I might be able to look past it like the chest but those are a complete deal breaker for me with how bad it looks. If someone like Dr wu or anyone could fix that I would prob buy it.
