Just buy less than 150. Or let them know that you would like to pay for your shipping :thumb
Seems like bbts is the only American retailer that doesn't offer free shipping over 150.
Btw Have you heard of Amazon? Free shipping on almost everything no matter the price!

I've bought from TFD a few times and the service is great and shipping is pretty quick too. Glad to hear about this, their prices tend to be a little higher than everyone else's though, but if you catch a few items on sale it could be worth your while....

How many places offer free shipping in the US to US residents? Why do you think that is? It's because we international customers get hosed. The US wouldn't see so many international customers if some of these e-tailers resided within their home country (or even if what little stores here actually carried product). As your neighbour, we get hit pretty hard. We subsidize Americans shipping costs all the time which is why most companies are able to offer US residents free shipping. You have no idea at how much we international customers are nickle and dimed (which starts at the shipping level). If there was alternatives, many of us would be on it without a second thought.

Just to give you an idea on how expensive it is for some of us international customers. My last purchase from BBTS (that would be a total of two combiner figures, Hasbro) came to a total of just over $400 CAD when all was said and done (exluding cutsoms). That was a 260 USD order. Not even exaggerating. Just under $80 of that was shipping, despite being all in the same loot shipment. Yeah, I thought it insane too, but that's what it worked out to, and no, that wasn't next day delivery, no point in paying for that since BBTS boxes are a customs magnet and get dinged every single time and custom time clearances vary. Did you know they aren't even consistent when gouging you? It has ranged from $19 - 70, and it didn't matter what the value of the items were. You have no idea at how frustrating it is to be a collector outside of the US who is close to the US.

My gripe with what you said is that it came off as entitled and spolied, and how dare we (Americans) even consider giving international custimers are break. The truth is, we international customers are helping your econmony by supporting American business, and that's the kind of gratitudte we get? Ever wonder why most of the planet views Americans in a certain light?

Sorry for the rant, but it needed to be said.

    You're American

Just do this experiment: Double any price you've paid for an order recently. This is to replicate Australian shipping costs. Yes, just raw double how much you've paid. Welcome to Australian shipping

We've been subsidising you for years

Well I did a mock order to see how they compare to some others- and with their free shipping the price was lower.

You are 100% correct. As a Canadian buyer- my last order over $150 from BBTS added a $45USD shipping charge. You as a US resident would be charged $0. It is intrinsically unfair.

In the essence of fairness, I humbly request a reimbursement of $20USD to my Paypal as I have clearly been subsidizing your shipping for years. If I can provide you with reciepts from my other US based purchases in which I was charged more than $30USD shipping- will I qualify for further credits from you?

A lot of butt hurt here from people not in the US. What can I tell ya - sorry it costs more to ship to your country but that's how it is.

Not sure how international shipping is subsidizing American free shipping. It costs us a ludicrous amount of money to ship to most other countries because those countries hit their citizens with outrageous customs fees on goods entering, and our country's post office charges outrageous fees for an item to leave. I mean, it costs me a minimum of $35 USD to ship the tiniest box to the UK, for instance. Hypothetically, do you think that any of that $35 is going in my pocket, helping me offer someone else a deal?

That's foolish. I can't speak for every business out there in the USA that international folks are buying from, but I really don't think many of them are trying to screw you to ship me 2 figures for free. Shipping just sucks, and there isn't much anyone can do about it without losing money out of pocket.

What are you doing? Trying to make ppl hate you even more?

You won't be screwed over shipping on a store that isn't even US based. Just relax and don't toss wood to a "fire" you started with a comment lacking knowlegde.

What can I tell ya- sorry all you're doing is trolling people you don't give a ____ about.
If you consider this conversation nothing more than 'butt hurt' then I humbly request you remove yourself from it. There is a whole world of TF fans out there- and this thread is to inform them of a possible affordable and reliable alternative to some of the known retailers. That's it.

TF-Direct is offering free shipping for their customers. Clearly they have a business plan which the market allows for, which they've now put into action- and some people will greatly appreciate it. I for one potentially stand to save hundreds- and I hope the sharing of this information benefits others regardless of how people like you think their butts feel.

Can we get the conversation back on track now? Thanks.

I agree with the sentiments of others. Paying an extra 20-25% because of the weak Canadian Dollar, plus extra shipping, plus getting dinged on customs really, really blows. Seeing this free international shipping from TF-Direct was huge for me, because even if I got dinged with customs, I was saving roughly $30-$40. It would be nice to see more options like this.

I found this comment rather disappointing, and frankly unnecessary. I totally get the frustration and feelings involved with having to pay such high prices compared to others, but that's such a crappy thing to throw at someone. It seems even more silly since we're discussing paying shipping for toys.

And when, I'm sure, some of the guys ripping into the first commenter in defense of free international shipping are American.

I hope this news forces A3U to give Canadians free shipping too. (They are Canadian based but only give free shipping to Americans only)

As much as I wanted to get my MPP10/MPP10B from tf-direct I had to choose ebay since MPP10 does not cost enough to qualify for free shipping. For this particular product, I found cheaper priced options on ebay plus the seller always offers free shipping.

I went straight to the website and looked at their shipping options.

They have a choice of 23 countries for shipping and that's it. Many major countries are not on their list.

yeah, I've always found that to be weird. I live in vancouver so I can go pick up if I want, but just plain weird a canadian shop gives free shipping to US customers but not Canadian ones.

It's actually more down to America still leads the way when it comes to e-commerce and similar services.

Amazon launched in '94 and there still isn't a competitor with same coverage and shipping efficiency.

Netflix began streaming '07 and there's still no service with the coverage they have on a global scale.

As far as shipping goes as 'everything' is made in China (or Asia) I get nearly free shipping on everything as it is. Free shipping has gone from a sales gambit to a benchmark for entitlement. Instead of going out and hunting for these items ourselves we want them delivered to our front door for free.
