So, I love Fran. Perhaps my favorite Final Fantasy character. I got excited for awhile there when it was announced that she was getting a Play Arts.

Then I learned what size the 'Kai' is and that she wouldn't fit with the few other, original style, Play Arts I have, and the price is a bit beyond 'casual purchase' range, and I'm like:

    NOOOOOOOOO!!!

Why do you do this to me Square? My Fran! :(

Anyway, anyone got her? How is she? Make me jealous of you owning her figure!

Hmm, I don't have any PAK figures with capes so I don't know how they smell. Haha.

I like how the holsters are on her back and she can reach back and grab them. Her extended finger kinda hits the holster, but you can work around it easily enough.

Her wrist guns have effects parts, it's a bit of a hassle to get the hands on with the effects, but looks pretty good.

And then there's her bug zapper. The effects one is a pain to get her to hold on to, but it looks great so I like it.

of the handfull of PAKs I own/have owned, she's up in the top third, for sure.

I'm also looking forward to picking up that Arkham Batgirl, hopefully I can get a goodish deal on her. I really really like the Variant Batgirl and Supergirl, but they're certainly not worth more than $80.

I should've caved on that Black Widow when I saw here a week ago for like $55 on Amazon.

Anyways, I tweeted the pic below to one of the SE guys about how my AC is incomplete. Got a tweet back saying there is still a chance to complete the collection. I just hope he is not referring to Rufus aha

I got their Titanfall figure. My video review can be found in my sig. Its a good enough figure without having to spend the high cost to get the 3A version.

I love Play Arts but it's such a random scale. Are there other similar scaled toy series/lines? It looks too small for 1/6 and too big for anything else.

I'm also asking since I was looking for parts and accessories earlier. I ended up buying a new figure entirely just to get its hands.

I don't know of any other toy lines that are the same size as PAKs, but that doesn't mean there aren't.

But also be aware, some PAK lines are different scale than others. The Dark Knight Rises line was noticeably smaller than the DC and Marvel Variant lines, other lines might be too.

Has anyone bought any bootleg PAKs yet?

Trying to stay away from the obvious cheap ones from across the ocean, but when there someone is selling them loose in the US, its kind of hard to tell.

I haven't. I'm planning to pick up a cheap Venom and Spiderman, as soon as I can scrounge up enough money for it, but I've got lots of Bandai pre-orders to pay for in the coming months, so it may be a while before I can.

Looks great! I was sorely tempted by PAK BW, Batgirl, and Catwoman but decided against all of them for space and cost reasons. Odd that PAK BW didn't come with some effect parts for her twin pistols. Despite being somewhat maligned, I love the effects parts on Revoltech War Machine's twin arm-mounted machine guns and shoulder cannon, for example.

Nice collection! Wish I had picked them up but in the grand scheme of things, I much prefer the cyber-punk styling of the upcoming FFVII Remake PAK line. Better odds that the Remake will feature a more complete cast of characters getting figures too.

I got those 2, haven't really taken the time to take photos of them though.

Thanks! Definitely looking forward to that line. I have some hope for them continuing the AC line. I thought they were done with the Arkham Knight line last year, but they announced 2 more. Thats about 10 months after their last AK release. I think its been a year now since the last AC release. I guess we'll see between now to July (SDCC) to see if they're continuing the line or not.

Yeah, I watch tons of PAK reviews. AnthonysCustoms has a lot of PAK reviews and he always lines up the figure with a ruler before he starts the review. I think he said he won't buy any new ones because of the price but all the newer ones, as far as I can tell, follow a 10.5" scale so there's less of an issue.

In case anyone ever has the same problem as me looking for hands, the best ones are Edward Kenway (plain hands), Connor (half gloves) and the new Dawn of Justice Batman (gloved hands). They all come with six hands or three pairs of Left/Right hands. The Assassins Creed figures also come with tons of accessories which was another minor plus. The Batman one is expensive but it looks like China is already selling bootlegs.

I ordered one just for the hands (see above). I can post a quick review.

Speaking of AnthonyCustoms and that ruler he uses, are the measurement even correct? I've seen him measure figures without putting them down sometimes, but other times he does. Maybe he is just looking at the measurements from the camera or at an angle. Anyways, he gets his PAKs straight from AmiAmi. I get mine either from comic shops, amazon (not 3rd party sellers), BBTS and other reliable places. I just compared the figures he measures to the ones I own and for some reason, he measures each of his figures about a half to an inch taller than my figures. Now I know all of mine are authentic as his are, but it leaves me to question, are all PAKs that are sold in Japanese sites/stores, taller than the ones imported over?

I've seen one review online comparing an AK Batman to a bootleg AK Batman, and the bootleg (I think, couldn't translate) looked a bit reduced in overall size.

Can anyone here with a PAK from AmiAmi/HLJ/HS measure some figures?

    EDIT:
So I got in a couple measurements between my Steampunk Bat and AmiAmi SP Bats. We all measured ours at 10 1/4" - 10 1/2" (I think they got the ruler running along the body and not straight up). ACustoms measured his at 11". So I guess its not a Japan thing. Instead, he is just not measuring them precisely.

Anyways, from what I'm seeing and a quick review I read (which I can no longer find on Amazon), is that BvS Batman is smaller than the recent scale of figures we've been getting. Like they went back to the smaller AA/AC scale. Can anyone here confirm?

So I finally got the bootleg PAK Dawn of Justice Batman and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with it. I originally bought it because I wanted the hands. I even asked a friend if he wanted to buy it off me. Looking at it now though, I'm probably going to keep it. I don't have the official one to compare to but it looks really good.

It came with all the hands and accessories and no box. The two big cape flaps came unattached and it was a bit of a hassle putting them into the pegs but nothing that would discourage me from buying it if I really wanted it. Long story short, it's a good figure, bootleg or not. Joints seem like they're good except one ankle joint which might get too loose in the future. It stands by itself well enough but the cape placement is an issue because it makes him back heavy.

It's definitely a smaller scale unless the Chinese bootleggers completely redid the molds which I highly doubt. The final product is too good IMO to be a rushed remold but take that for what it is. Here's some scaling pictures. The figure in the black trenchcoat is made from Liquid Snake so just pretend for scaling purposes that it's Liquid Snake.

While I had my camera out anyway I measured them. The angle's in the pictures is a bit off but Liquid, Aquaman and Yuki are in the 10" scale and scale well with each other. So based on that the later MGS figures, the DC Variants and the two Captain Harlocks figures should be in scale with each other.

Batman seems like he's in the 9" scale which would put him with the majority of the Halo figures IIRC. I don't actually have those though. My unofficial but thus far completely accurate test is to see if my Kaiser stands work on them. It's supposed to be for 6 1/2" to 11" but it won't hold up the 10" scale Play Arts figures. It does work for Dawn of Justice Batman.

So Garbranth and Balthier are getting new molds?

Sounds like they scale with Fran. I was so close to getting Garbranth but he was too small to fit with what I already have. Can anyone give me a size for Fran? I'm going to have to get one or both of these.

GameStop is blowing out their Play Arts Kai figures at low, low prices.

    Search | GameStop

Spider-Man is $50, Darkseid is $50, Arkham Knight is $50, just to name a few.

Wow, $50 for Spider-man seems really good. I'm not sure where I'm going to get it from, but I'm going to scrounge up 50 bucks from somewhere and pick him up.

Is that a custom Ashley Riot (from Square Enix's Vagrant Story) made out of PAK MGS Liquid Snake (and based on Ashley's design at the very end of the game)? Very cool! Vagrant Story is one of my favorite PS games from back in the day. Is there a custom Sydney Lossrarot to go with him? I wish SE would revisit the VS world and give us a sequel (I know that Final Fantasy XII is set in the same world as VS and FF Tactics, just different time frames).

Yeah, the PAK MSG 1, 2, and 5 figures tend to be on the larger scale/size point. Speaking of which, I still need to unbox PAK MGSV Revolver Ocelot and DD (Venom Snake's wolf dog).
