Realized my title is misspelled...Damn my terrible typing skills. Oh well! This is my take on a very unique figure. According to Tfwiki.net Itami Prime was conceived as part of the "Cybertron Satellite" promotion wherein select towns and neighborhoods had their own "mascots". I can't get enough Seekers for my collection so when I came across something that was virtually unknown to me I had to try my hand at it. I used a Hasbro MP Sunstorm as the base figure and completely repainted him to emulate Itami Prime. There are almost no reference photos to go by with this character, and those that I could find are very small with no real detail. Tfwiki states that his color scheme is aquamarine, black and grey, but I changed it up a bit to Light Metallic Blue, black and white. I printed my own decals for his faction symbols and his name plate on the stand.
This is absolutely beautiful, and now I'm kind of obsessed with the Cybertron Satellite idea, so thanks for that
Thank you! I love coming across obscure characters and attempting to bring them to life. Hopefully I did the original artist proud with this one.
Definitely...I have done so many customs using this mold. -First off is disassemble everything you can without damaging any parts. -I like to wash the parts in mild soapy water to remove any mold release. (don't lose any down the drain) -Figure out rub spots ahead of time and sand/use hobby knife to reduce. -Use a good quality primer once parts are dry. -Paint using even, thin coats. Don't try to cover in one coat it will just get thick. -Once completely cured, notice I didn't say dry, you can clear coat the parts. -Again, once cured, reassemble parts. These are just basic customization tips, but they do work. Most important tip of all is just have fun. Who cares if anyone else likes it as long as you are pleased.
Thanks for the tips. I have about 9 hasbro seekers waiting for me to get to them. What paint did you use for the jet canopy?
