I should point out that Windblade's design was actually be a designer at Takara who took inspiration from a class of nobility I forgot is called so you can't say she's along the same lines as guys like Movie Drift and RID15 Drift who were both in fact designed in the West because if anything she was designed along the lines of how most of the Gundam designs homages Japanese cultural elements a bit at the very least

I admit I kinda of gotten the idea of inspired design and obvious design mixed up like how Split Lip mentioned but still even if Windblade was designed by someone by Hasbro why would you even consider her funny because she has strong cultural elements to her design? I'm not hearing you say the same thing about guys like Bludgeon and Yoketron because they have that going on in their own too so does that make them funny and weeabots too?

Windblade visual form was designed by Lenny Panzica, a designer at Hasbro, not Takara.

Engineering of the mold was usual HasTak joint venture. But at this point how WB is supposed to look was already finalised.

It was never any secret that the fan-built bot poll was ran by Hasbro.

 

I've read a post from Planet Epockh a while back who explained the design choices fro her around 2014 or last year I believe.

It's just a logical thing. Two out of three moulds are being released through retail, and I doubt Hasbro would skip him out.

Imho they're comparable.

With WB mold it's really important which production run you own.

First Hasbro run has the most QC issues with things not aligning properly and flimsy heels. Got this one and it wasn't pretty.
Later Hasbro should be mostly OK.
Takara Legends is later and has better QC/other issues with tolerances on parts ironed out (allegedly, I do not own Takara version).
Slipstream's somewhere on pair with WB Legends. She also benefits from better color scheme somewhat making this pair of robo boots and shins not as noticeable on top of her alt mode.

And I fixed stability issues with my own Gen WB in the most lazy way possible with tightening heel joints and then glueing thin strips of lead into her shin and chest plates to balance for back/wing kibble, so it was simple to correct without shapeway mods.

It's definitely comedy gold the other way around. Maxter Gundam anyone? Texas Mack? Pure hardcore American stereotype robots.

Though, I suppose that if Medieval or Roman stylisation for a fan-built bot were victorious chances are they'd be as over the top and unsubtle as WB, no difference if the bot would end male or female.

All I've bought is the best looking version of this Gen Arcee mold.

If this thing was out as soon as Gen and Legends Arcee's were, chances are I'd skip Gen Arcee completely.
