Indeed. Remember that Bay has rejected every story idea involving Unicron. It's almost like they took out the bits okay with Bay (Humans experimenting with Cybertronian tech; Megatron possessing Galvatron; a human wanting all Decepticons and Autobots dead; Dinobots appearing in the climax) and put it into the actual movie while ignoring all of the Primus, Unicron, and Vector Prime stuff.

On the other hand, the whole Lockdown/Creator thing and the Pathetic Dirty Foursome of the actual film are little like anything in that script.

 

Oh that's right, I'd forgot. I can't remember the type of aircraft the search and rescue was. I'd have to Google it, but I think that they were often referred as flying gas tanks. Because of the nature of their purpose they carried a lot of fuel. That that particular plane had been prone to exploding in air. A fault in design.

Actually I remember that part quite well, the Dinobots were never part of the early info for TF4, I think it was another two to three months after that script leaked that the first image of Optimus riding Grimlock popped up at a trade show. Meanwhile the YouTube report of the leak sort languished there, it had a few thousand views, and that was it. Then that image of Grimlock and Optimus appeared and the views on that video quickly shot up to 2 million.

There is better evidence for that script being somewhat legit in the toys... Anyone ever wonder why these came out?

We had Protectobots, that weren't Protectobots in AOE packaging.

The leaked script opened with the Protectobots coming to the rescue of a small town that had been hit by a meteor. To me, these are the result of that draft, and were released as an odd Asia exclusive when that storyline was dropped.

 

Negotiations can always be made for the rights of characters, otherwise we wouldn't have Spiderman (rights held by Sony, not Marvel Studios/Disney) in Captain America: Civil War. No company is just going to outright deny the use of character if there is money to be made with it.
