I wasn't sure where to post this but I found it kind of funny. I have a 8" Decepticon logo on the back of my truck. Well while sitting at dinner, Someone(must have seen us get out) walked over to me and politely asked what the symbol was. So I explained that is was a Decepticon logo(then it hit him as he stated "Oh yeah!!"). He thought it was pretty cool and he spoke about how he used to watch the show as a kid. Well during our discussion I happen to mention the movie that was coming out. He knew it was coming out but he hasn't seen much about it, just a few TV spots but he did say it looked phenomenal. Well then while we were talking for a bit another gentleman walked up and said he overheard our conversation about the movie. So he wanted to know more about it. So me and this other guy started explaining what it looked like so far and what some of the story was about. He asked us if it looked any good so I explained my thoughts, what I liked, what I didn't like and such. So he asked where he could see the TV spots and info about the movie(Of course I told them about TFW2005 ) but as I said that my wife butted in and said " Why don't you just get your PSP out of the truck and show them?(which I forgot about)" So I did and show him the few TV spots that I had on the PSP. Then a woman that was sitting behind us asked if she and her son could see it as well. I told her it was fine and let them watch it(Her son now wants to see it). As this is going on I see a bunch of people wondering what the commotion is about. So the woman sitting behind us explained to the table next to her and so on and so forth. So now a couple of tables around us are now talking about this movie. So as we finished our dinner, I said I was sorry for interrupting everyone's meal and we left. I explained about finding some info about it on this site and the movie site to the woman behind us. I thought it was pretty cool and funny how one little symbol on the back of my truck could cause a multi-table TF movie discussion.
Anyone who shouts "plant" is a plant themselves from another studio, trying to bring down this movie. =P Awesome story.
My wife would have never told me to get my PSP to show the trailer. She would be too busy rolling her eyes at me.
Nope, no plant man here. I just thought it was cool and thought I would share the story. Yeah, well that phase is over between me and my wife. She knows I am a little off the deep end(30 years old and still collecting Transformers ) and she knows that I am excited about this movie.
Yep, prolly a Macross plant But all kidding aside. That's an awesome story. I can't wait to get some TF logo's on my Pickup.
Yeah, I've noticed this movie definitely has a much different impact on everybody so far. Just the hype and spreading word are enough to get anybody excited and interested. It's rare to see so many different types of reactions, both positive(mostly I hope!) and negative. I've been able to get both my fiancee and her best friend really excited about the movie just by how excited I am about it. Luckily all the people I've talked to about it (mostly my family and friends) have had positive reactions. I'm thankful the only negative ones I've seen are on here and the comments on Youtube. I joined this site since I've been reading it for awhile, and I definitely noticed that most people share my view. I'm here to support that view, as I find myself not able to contain my excitement for the movie any longer.
The only negative responces I've heard are from the "G1 purists". Everyone else seems to be geniunely interested or excited.
Damns you! The glory of Gobots will overwhelm you when it comes out! On a serious note (kinda), if I knew the company that will be making the Transformers decals for cars, I'd invest in them about... now.
That's a cool story Soundwave. I get the same thing whenever I'm out or at work when people spot my Decepticon symbol tattoo. It was really crazy when I was in the hospital two weeks ago. Every doctor and nurse that saw the tattoo got them talking about Transformers and the Movie. Of course I pluged TFW2005 and the movie site when they asked where they could get more info and see the trailers and tv spots ;-) And that went on for all the three days I was in the hospital....lol
