Yes, nice comparison list. But this doesn't make it harder to choose for me. I think Takara knocked this one out of the park. I have been consistent with getting the CW version of Superion, Menasor, Defensor, Bruticus and Devastator. But this is the one time I just have to go with Unite Warriors. To me there was alot of missed opportunity in Hasbro's design choice for the Technobots that Takara did a better job of NOT missing. But this is just my opinion so I know there will be many people that won't exactly agree with me here.

 

While the Hasbro Computron is cheaper it was told to me durring Botcon that Takara had the rights to Computron, hence why they are going all out. The UW Computron also will be the first released in August. Habros will be released Fall 2016. Hasbro declined to say which month. I'm guessing a month or two after the UW release.

 

May = Victorion

July = G2 Bruticus

September = Computron

This is pure speculation on my part, but going by the bi-monthly releases of the previous G2 sets, with Victorion confirmed for May, I think this is the schedule Hasbro will follow in releasing their upcoming boxsets to retail.

Something to remember... while Takara has dated UW-08 Computicon in August, it is late August. An end of the month release like all the other UW sets. As in give or take a week or two before they hit stateside. Plenty of time for Hasbro to release their set during the first week of September.

 

The Unite Warriors version is way better than Combiner wars version. The only thing CW has going is the hands and feet.

 

Yeah, I'm seriously considering painting it myself. That way I can also get the white windshield Afterburner should have. Just worried about screwing it up...

 

And Scrounge. At least it has a new head as well. I'll probably get the Hasbro one for the hands, feet, and Scrounge, and then take the rest back to Walmart. I've never thought about doing that before with any set, but this is the exception. Its just that lackluster.

Doing it and saying I feel like doing it are two different things. You taking my statement literally is where we need your Picard photo. Just because you get mad at someone and you use the term I could kill you does not mean your gonna kill someone. Same with my statement. Its an overexageration ment to show how strongly you feel about something, in this case a lackluster boxset that has little to no actual content that one (In this case I) would want.

Can't say I'm overly excited about nosecone, but the rest aren't really terrible. I like the bright colors a bit more in combined mode than UW, and that Scrounge is pretty good.

That's a lot of self aggrandizing fanfare for essentially saying "But moooom, I said I would steal the children's toy, but I didn't meeean it!" But sure. Next Ice Cube over here.

 

For a minute there, I thought Walmart would be willing enough to take a toy which is open and incomplete. If so, then I would of done that too. xp

In anycase if I were to buy hasbro's set for the hand/feet and Scrounge... I'd sell the parts I don't want on eBay. but I doubt anyone would want a incomplete Hasbro CW Computron regardless on the price I set.

 

It might be both cheaper and more likely to buy Scrounge on eBay along with any number of custom hands and feet out there than buying this set and trying to sell off the Computron.

 

I don't even care about the hands and feet. I don't want them anyway as it won't match all of the other combiners.

I just want Scrounge.

 

Botcon JUST ended and already we are skyrocketing the value of another legends figure, which hasn't even been released yet.

Sigh...

 

With every other combiner I have purchased I went with Hasbro. Granted I always like the more cartoon accurate paint. But I could look past paint diffrences as a character update. They stayed close to their g1 counterparts and most were fairly easy to find in the wild long before the box sets were released. But after seeing the CW ones in person I can't find any reason I would want to buy those figures. Scattershot does not differ. Much from his version 1 figure. Afterburner although he is more orange it is in wrong places and for some reason he looks like he has too much black on him. Nosecone I figured I would like that figure but he just looks a mess and the brawl head just finished it off. Lightspeed way to much white and I know most people like the streetwise mold it is obvious Hasbro does but never was really fond of it anyway and I mean the mold is like their go to car mold. Strafe the mold is ok but again the orange combiner port just sticks out and he is missing his iconic wings on his shoulders. Scrounge he is neat but if I did get the set he would be displayed by himself anyway . just as Computron he is ok but the fact of I would even see the set in stores it would probably be marked up at toys r us. So I would just spend 25-30 more for unite warriors. But I am glad they at least tried hopefully it shows the popularity of combiner and they will add some more in later lines but hopefully not put together so fast and they put the streetwise mold to rest.

 

Yea I know but hey, sometimes its needed to get a point across. Habro tried, could they have done better... Yes. I think again they under estimated the figure. They had said at Botcon that Computron wasnt something they were going to do at first. They saw and heard us after they made Scatorshot wanting Computron. However being at the tail end of combiner wars they were probably already knee deep into titan masters, so they did a quick n dirty Computron and remolded/redesigned what they could.
