After seeing the Takara Legends Blurr, this old mold will never do. If they'd only done a shiny version of the Legends Blurr, this set would have been perfect.

Fell like they should've redecoed minimus as Wheelie. New head would be even better.

We need a new Rodimus Prime to go with these guys! At least a voyager. Might wanna wait though otherwise he'd end up a titan master with Hod Rod as his noggin.

This is a nice set and I'm sure I'll buy it.

Also don't mind Minimus Ambus in the set, he's a part of the Magnus toy and wasn't going to be left out. And I'll just head retcon his existence into the '86 movie, but only because I know how much it's inclusion annoys the crotchety old fans who can't accept even the slightest change.

I'm a hip newer fan, and I have a bone to pick with it, too. And not because I hate IDW, or because I "can't accept even the slightest change"; rather, because it makes no sense, and there were plenty of more sensible options to use. It's not something I'm going to actively complain about, but it's certainly odd.

Anyways, there is much to be adored about this set. Given that I only own Springer at this point, it's certainly a great option for me (and others like me). The paint jobs are absolutely perfect, and the shiny colors are well-placed, IMO. I wish Arcee had her pistols instead, and (again) that we'd gotten some form of Wheelie or Spike or Daniel instead of Minimus. I also agree with the few who think TR Blurr would've fit better in here - if they're going to include Minimus, why not a non-Headmaster Headmaster? - but that just means I can make some money off of this set's Blurr and go for the Legends TR figure. :p

Speaking of money, though, I don't even want to think about how much this is going to cost. I've never been a fan of Platinum Edition sets given their usually outlandish prices, but this is one of the few times where I feel I really do need it. I'll probably end up selling my original Springer and some other figures to make up the money for it. My guess is around $300.

The problem with including the Generations Blurr mold is that it looks nothing like the character; it's an arbitrary toy simply painted in Blurr colors that has zero visual connection with the movie. It makes as much sense in this set as repainting Windblade in Blurr colors to stand in for Blurr in this set.

Well, you're half-right; it doesn't look anything like the G1 character. But it looks plenty enough like IDW Blurr. Given that, it's not fair to say a repainted Windblade makes as much sense.

Hell, Springer doesn't look anything like the G1 character either so is not like Blurr is the only one out of place here (you can also make the argument for Ultra Magnus).

Speaking for myself, I really like Generations Blurr since it looks perfectly like IDW Blurr.

The Legends fig is more accurate, now that I look at photos of the two side-by-side... in fact, comparing them with the animation model, the PE's fig is looking rather peculiar. A little odd.

It's not odd when you consider there was nothing remolded on any of the toys, so you still get Minimus unchanged (who I would guess comes as part of the mold whenever HasTak wants to use it). Sure they could have painted it in Wheelie colors or told you it was Exo-Suit Spike, but it's not like that would have really been better received.

Makes sense. It's pretty much confirmed that even if he isn't the big enemy of Titans Return, he's at least still a big jerk.

Some people have already said they'd prefer a simply repainted Minimus, so there are those who'd have received it better, I assume. I most likely would have. And I didn't say I expected a remold to begin with. :p  It would've been nice, and I would've liked it, but I certainly didn't expect it.

Same. I already have three of those figures, but it's so cool.

If only there was a decent Rodimus in it.

It's a great set for anyone who missed earlier figures. Blurr and Springer are great figures even if they do have superior mold uses out there.

I never claimed you expected anything, just that changing Minimus or flat out replacing him was unlikely since they aren't making changes to any of the molds and therefore not odd. And I have my doubts that people would have honestly been happier if Hasbro had done something like painted it orange and called him Wheelie, or that those that those that hate Minimus would suddenly have been any more inclined to buy this set simply because they can pretend the toy is somebody it's not.

Heck yeah ~ I truly hate Minimus, from his name to his concept to to the way I feel he destroys Magnus's character, to the way his interaction needlessly compromises the Leader Magnus's design, but if they'd Repainted him as Spike/Daniel in this set (a tiny remold would sell it even better, but doesn't seem on the table for these releases) I'd have thought, Dang! That's really clever.

And by mentioning remolding or replacing him at all, you made the assumption that I cared. I hadn't said anything about that prior, so the only reason you'd have for bringing it up would be you assuming I meant that, right? That's what I thought you were implying, anyway.

Magnus was a dude within a dude before IDW, so...
And his design isn't really compromised by Minimus's inclusion. The entire cab would become his chest/center of torso no matter what, given that's how he's always been (sort of). If you removed Minimus from the equation, it wouldn't really change anything.

Unless the tilde meant you were being sarcastic...?
