I think they just farm their own crops. I haven't actually seen it tho.

Ok... but everything I grow is in the two villages in my world. Granted, I built the farms into one of the villages (was just three houses and a well when I found it), but the farms in the other one have been there the whole time.

I'm just kinda wondering if I'll have to build a dedicated farm outside of the villages, and then just leave the existing ones for them to use.

This is interesting. I haven't minecrafted in a long while, so I'm a bit out of the loop. What are the rules for a villager to recognize that an area is a garden?

I used to do Pixel Art in Minecraft, albeit I only did sprites from Game Boy games because the shades of Grey and Black in Minecraft matched those same shades from the original Game Boy's very limited color palette.
I once did a mural of ALL the Gym Leader challenge sprites from Red and Blue version, which probably spanned about three-quarters of a mile.
Once made the RED Challenge sprite from Gold and Silver (which was about 25% larger than the RBY Gym leader challenge sprites) onto the side of a mountain I nicknamed "Mount Silver" after the mountain from Gold and Silver. That one stretched from the Vertical height limit to several blocks below the terrain.
I did manage Pikachu's overworld sprite from Yellow version in color

I've been researching it to try and figure out if I need to do anything to my farms before the update hits. The Farmer Villagers can apparently detect farmed land withing a certain radius of themselves, and depending on what it's like, that will determine what they do. If it's empty and they have seeds/potatoes/carrots they'll go and plant something on it, if something is planted but not fully grown they leave it alone, and if something is planted and fully grown they'll go harvest and replant it, keeping the left-over food and seeds in their inventory. Apparently they can even turn wheat into bread on their own. Which is tied to how they'll be breeding now.

As far as I can tell, the only way to retreive the items they harvest is to have a set-up that either forces them to walk over a hopper, and that will empty their inventory.

Which means I'll either be moving my farms, or simply fencing them off so the villagers can't access them. Should be simple to do in the one village, but the other I might just have to get rid of them, as the way they're placed, the Villagers will be able to fall down into them.

It wasn't mentioned in the update notes, but I'm really hoping they increase the number of animals that can exist in a world. Otherwise I'm going to have to get rid of some to keep my farm going. Maybe I'll finaly get rid of the five cats I've had just sitting around...

Speaking of animal numbers, did they ever fix the limited number of animals in the PS4/Xbone versions? I've been hesitant to start a new "large" world and have that world's animal quota mostly stuck on mountain sides for me to hunt and kill off.

Edit: What I meant was did they ever remedy the stuck animal mountain side problem?

Been playing around with the nuew update. Pretty fun, but I feel like it's going to be a while before I get around to exploring all the additions. Which I think is a good thing. I really like that the new stones can be crafted, and that we can now craft mossy stone and mossy stone bricks.

I started a new world using the same number for my main world to see how the biomes will have shifted. I'm still going to build in the main world I've had going for about 2.5 years now, but this new version of it looks cool enough that I might continue with it as well.

That said, I'm a tad dissapointed that there doesn't appear to be a water monument in it. I even flew around in creative mode out of curiosity. Unless they can spawn entirely underneath the sea floor, I'm SOL when it comes to prismarine (spelling?). I was kinda hoping that it would so that ,even though my main world doesn't have one, there might be a chance of some guardians spawning where there should be one if I had just started the world.

Not sure if they increased the number of animals. I'm starting to think it's a regional thing. My first visit into my main world after the update had me relatively surrounded by newly spawned wildlife in one corner of the map, but the opposite corner where my barn and stables are nothing new spawns in.

Haven't seen any bunnies out in the wild yet. What biome do they typically spawn in? If I can get two to spawn into my main world I'll add them to my barn of... 26 other animals... lol

Bunnies usually show up in plains and savannas. I think they can show up anywhere but I have seen them there quite a bit.

    Made this tower.

My next project is to see how to get the carrots and potatos from the farm into my base and be replanted without me having to do it manually.

me and a friend started a new game on a mod pack. built a donut shaped base around an active volcano and he's moving our small reactor in to the main power room inside the volcano.

He's usually the one who does all that, i just like building cool things.

Volcano bases seem to be popular. I haven't made one yet, maybe next time. I always seem to alternate between inside hill vs outside. If my next pack doesn't have volcanos (my current one doesn't) then I'll take over a village. That is always useful, although the constant opening and closing of doors and "hmmm" sounds can get annoying.

Just read up on the new update. Yeowzer, that's a lot of stuff. I might have to start a new world.

Edit: I'm having a lot of trouble finding any information to confirm it, but reading your post and what little I could find makes it sounds like there is a larger animal limit which is determined by chunks rather than a set limit for the entire world. I'm hoping this is true as its been my biggest worry about large worlds on the PS4.

Also learning about slime blocks and flying machines...this is quite the update.

Is it just me, or is anyone else in the US not getting the bug fix for the Xbox 360 version of the game?

Is anyone else having trouble getting large spruce trees to grow? I planted one a while back and it grew no problem, so I decided to plant a couple more, but they're all still groups of saplings.

I've even tried bone meal on them, and no matter how much I use, nothing works. Though when I go into my creative world that I use to test ideas I have, it works no problem.

Edit: Figured it out. Apparently you can't have anything on the ground within a meter of the sapplings. Got rid of the snow/grass next to them, and the five sets I had planted all grew pretty fast. There was even one that grew before I had all of the snow removed.

Trying to build a stone foundation for my city on creative mode on Xbox One. It's really tedious filling all this in, but if anyone has time to help me out that'd be amazing and I'd return the favor! My gamer tag is ChaosMuffin51 I appreciate it guys!

How old should you be to play this? My seven year old really wanted to play it so I bought the Pocket Edition for her iPad. She soon became very frustrated because she had made her way into a cave and couldn't get out. I couldn't get her out either and wound up deleting the world and starting over.

Is she too young to be able to play this on her own? I don't have the time (or to be honest, the interest) to help her out with it constantly.
