I'm not watching the video. I'm going to resist. Watching a video for Ironhide really spoiled the first 'wow' of seeing him in person.

And regardless, I'm sure there's no conspiracy taking place with HLJ's payment requests. Shipping costs what it costs. They are not losing money on it either way.

Lol, no. AmiAmi, just happened to send theirs out at the end of their day, last night (middle of the night for us US folks). Probably the last thing they did before leaving for the day. HLJ will send theirs out first thing in the morning for them (usually mid day for the US), just like they do every single time. Both of which are STILL ahead of the release date.

 

The legs look quite flimsy in the video, could possibly be isolated or just the added weight of the batteries. Bigger question now is to hold off and maybe pick him up at a discount, as I noticed some pre-orders off JP e-tailers have not sold out - could be a possible indication of demand down the road. Ahh, first world problems...

 

Just got my payment request from amiami

 

It all depends. Most importantly, it has to look as good as and hopefully better than XTB's Apollyon, which will be a very difficult task. If they can accomplish that and get the quality including paint, materials and tolerances as good as MX-I then it will be a must buy for me. Considering the MP line only has about a 10% success rate according to my desires, it's not looking good for them. But I have a bit of faith that they might take extra care with Megatron 2.0 that they wouldn't for other characters and not let it be Megafail 2.0.

As for people wanting Shockwave to have the same color as the Decepticon logo, that's fine if it's what you want but to me it would be ridiculous. You wouldn't be able to see his insignias if that were the case. I guess that would solve the problem of people not wanting to apply stickers though.  

 

That's nice but I wasn't talking about 3-4 PST, I'm saying 12-1 PST is when I get payment requests, so it's 3-4 hours from when we posted. Either way, people won't have to wait all day as you were suggesting because HLJ payment requests go out during the day for North American customesr. People don't have to wait on them like they do with AmiAmi.

 

That's why you would use white outline only for the insignias and let the color show through the transparency. That's what I did with Quakewave and it looks really nice.

I have to wonder if that's one of the main reasons for the color that they chose... to differentiate it from the Decepticon insignia. I'm really surprised the stickers aren't white-backed instead or white outlined only.

lol wow, you are a stickler for toon-accuracy. But you might consider that Soundwave, Rumble, and quite a few other character's insignias aren't white outlined in the toon either yet their MPs are  

And actually, if you want to be that precise about toon accuracy, there are in fact shots where his color is EXACTLY the same as the Decepticon insignia. They just outlined it in black instead of white.

 

Haha, I just think Shockwave looks so much better with the transparent background logo just like the way TT did theirs and jream did his QW. I wouldn't mind Soundwave having the same but it might not look as good on the transparent window of his chest...I should try sometime. 

 

  I'm just ribbing you...I actually prefer no outline myself. But with guys like Shockwave, I think it works well. We're going to have similar issues if an official MP Perceptor is ever made.

 

Honestly, more and more I think everything they did was to be accurate (as possible within design constraints) to this, decals included, not to any particular depiction in the cartoon itself. Since the latter varied so much, maybe they see it as the closest thing they can ever get to any sort of "authoritative," canonical look for him. Which in a way makes sense, as it was what animators used as their reference despite any liberties or variations in the final produced scenes, right?

Shockingly fast usually with EMS.   Sometimes as little as three days, seriously.
