So by all means, come into a Combiner-centric thread then?

In fact, I'll just send you all the ones I have.

Wow, wouldn't be cool if TAKARA designed them and we (rest of the world) got updated versions later...

Not really, the UW set would in turn need the hand and feet set bumping the cost back to $170 or so.

Sounds good! Yeah, since I'm waiting on UW Bruticus, I'm in no rush anyway.

I disagree. The PE hand and foot replacements aren't a must for UW Computron.

But IMO the replacement PE Head, chest, and gun replacements are an absolute must for CW Computron because otherwise the torso just looks like another repaint of Superion.

So again, UW is the way to go because $134.99 for UW Computron is essentially the same price as CW Computron plus the PE Head, chest, and gun upgrade kit.

To bad about Scrounge, but UW Computicon is Computron. I can't stop looking at the pics of the prototype. Who would have thought back when Hasbro introduced Betatron, this guy would come along? If the price was higher, I'd have suspected Takara had sneaked some LEDs into the chestpate.

I think it's almost a certainty Takara's Victorion is also going to feature extra remolding, as well.

Way too early for a final decision, but there are aspects I like better thus far on both. Don't like the Rook mold at all, and depending on retooling, Strafe is up in the air as well. This will potentially be a buy both and mix and match one for me.

It's interesting that Takara is doing more retools as Hasbro pinches pennies harder and harder. It's almost like they're trying to increase revenue by making the product more desirable.

It will be interesting to see if it ends up even BEING Victorion, or if they go the Grand Galvatron route and make them different characters: i could totally see Takara making them something like a G1 Fembot set...

I'd also borderline guarantee whatever they do, THAT will be a TT Mall exclusive... (still can't fathom why Defensor was: Prime and Galvatron, sure, Defensor :-/ )

I'd have to wait and see how the colors turn out on this to be 100% certain, but I will likely get the CW version due to cost and the addition of scrounge and the new hands and feet.

This version looks amazing tho, with the new chest and head. I'm fine with the hfg's as hands, but after getting some Nonnef feet for my combiners it'd take having to wait MONTHS to get more feet from him to justify getting the UW version. The hfg's don't cut it anymore for me in the articulation department. Plus the perfect effect sets are just too high for me just being hand and feet upgrades.

See my profile pic...darn you Takara!

And darn you Nonnef for being so bogged down to the point of not EVAR having feet in stock...

At least this time, either way you go, I think it'll be win/win.

Since Victorion's in-fiction appearances use details from the toys, and TT is accuracy first (and have no regard at all if proportions or paint colours look any good at all as long as details match up) so I'd bet if there is any retooling at all, it'd just be the combiner head to have more comic details.

Though, I'm not going to be surprised either way if it gets made or not. On one hand most of the UW sets are super nostalgia driven, on the other, female character sets in Legends sold pretty well last year from what I can tell.

Or they could do something different entirely.

    I mean,with dust up's Nightbird-ish head and Jumpstream's Arcee-ish head,they could make up two teams.

Yeah, and one of them would be the "G1 season 3" Crew. I mean if they could make a Rodimus,Kup,Blurr and a Deluxe Wreck-Gar out of groove (Cuz Making Springer might mean sacrificing his car mode to become a arm and a leg...)

    Nightbird however? I don't know...

Thinking about fembots,I'm surprised we didn't get a Strika in this line.

Or any of the remaining beast machines vehicon generals. That woulda been a great chance re-oh right Armybuilders wouldn't sell that well.

I guess here's hoping they make a "Velocitronian" team. I think Dirt Boss,Ransack and Crumplezone would team up with some thugs like Deadheat while Override,Clocker,Brakedown,Knockout? and a BIGGER Hot Shot should form a team to form "Flash Frenzy" or "Excellion" Actually... Excellion sounds like a great name for a combiner!

I like what I can see. We have Lightspeed from the Breakdown mould, that works so much better than Deadend, And suprisingy we have The Rook mould for Nosecone, that is an interesting choice of moulds as long as they give him Tank Treads I am happy. Saying this I have already pre-ordered the set

The question lies though... What will they turn Pyra Magna,Skyburst and Stormclash into?

Paint the back side of the forearms white and the tops red. The back of the forearm is the front of the thigh, so it's all good.

Not if you don't want the hands and feet... Not everyone cares about those things. The set certainly doesn't need them. If you want them that's one thing.

You're like the Anti Wing Saber X aren't you? :lol

In the UK, the price of the UW set is not that much more than the Hasbro sets would be. The G2 repaints of the Stunticons and Aerialbots have been £79.99 - £89.99. I'd expect the Technobots to be similarly priced.

UW Computron is currently priced at £99.99 on Kapows site.

Perhaps Hasbro's Computron will actually retail for a lot less, but I would be very surprised.
