I believe the feet can be swapped between the Sentinel-style feet and having the bullet train nose; because Astro still has the Sentinel feet on his heel, and the feet are most likely on at least a swivel for the purposes of transformation.

As for the neck....that's what Headmasters have always done. Astrotrain's neck joint is the head of his Headmaster, just like every Headmaster.

...So G1 Hot Rod's alt mode looks like crap for being futuristic? Brainstorm's alt mode looks crap for being futuristic? Not everything "futuristic" is bad, dude.

I think even just new shoulders (because the shape of the shoulder is so specific to Eject/Rewind) and sculpted (rather then stickers) chest details and these would have at least been semi-credible stand-ins for Rumble and Frenzy, but as-is, pretty much looks like Rewind with Rumbles head.

    All good.

Looking at the toy you can see visual clues that it's some type of train. Other clues, you have to look for.

This might be a legit train representation, but it's not what most people identify as a train. After all, we keep getting hound- er, reminded over and over that these toys are for kids not adults. So, how many kids can see a train in that?

This is my opinion: I think they put more effort than necessary into this only to get unsatisfactory results.

The shuttle is looser, since his name is Astrotrain and not Space Shuttle Train.

The design had merits in some way that compromised it in others. It seems to be a drawback to Transformers toys where a quality that is a merit to the visual design in some way is also a detriment in another.

Wow, liking Ravage and not liking Astrotrain? Interesting...not a lot of people go that way and instead go the opposite. I applaud you for having opinions.

I like both Astrotrain and Ravage; that post was really poorly written.

it's feeling to me like trying to force in the Triplechanging aspect in the Legends and Voyagers is really compromising the designs ~ the non-triplechanging Legends (Wheelie) and Deluxes all seem so much better overall ~ I mean, Galvatron's still pretty good, but his 3rd mode is even more throw-away then Astrotrains.

    Oh.

I like Astrotrain (even though I'm not getting him), but Ravage leaves a lot to be desired without a new head.

Are you kidding me? Design wise he's okay but he's a floppy mess in a lot of places and his gun mode's a complete joke!

Well, Spike did warn that there are some things Powerglide can't do...

Like form a decent gun and stay together in his alt mode. The peg also doesn't work too well, so pegging him in is a pain.

    ...

...Yes. I'm sure that's totally what Spike meant. I'm not sure how much he knew about pegging though.

I was really expecting to like the toy but he just ended up being so disappointing...

...probably didn't help that I got Shockwave on the same day though...whom instantly overshadowed any good points Powerglide had.

I really like Powerglide too, but we need Legends Brawn, Kickback and Beachcomber to round out the minibots now. Hoping those pop up either in TR or the next Prime Wars installment.

Didn't we already get Brawn and Beachcomber in Universe?

But yeah, Kickback is apparently on the way due to some quite plausible rumours...and I'm still yet to pick up a Hardshell and a Schrapnel.

Ask someone to make one on Shapeways, or get Iron Factory's Blitzwing. Hastak ain't gonna make you one...yet...give it five years.

Brawn, Beachcomber, Seaspray, Outback, and Hubcap are all that's missing, I think, from the 84-86 Minibots in the modern legends scale.

Kickback is coming in TR. I wonder what shade of yellow HE will have... :lol

And the Universe Brawn and Beachcomber are the old legends scale (now called Legion I think). The new ones are the ones that came with the Targetmasters Micromasters at first. We're only 5 releases away from completing them.

Am I the only one who prefers the old Legion Legends scale? But yes, we DO need a Seaspray.
