    Hi
I know this sounds crazy, what if the creators of RID 2015 just decided to ignore everything that happened with PR and just start off at the end of Prime?

I came to this idea when I saw the comic had decided to put Predaking back on Earth in issue #6 of the RID comic book. Why would he be there? Where are Skylynx and Darksteel?

If we pretend that PR never happened, it makes sense for Predaking to be on Earth because he was frozen there at the end of Prime. Darksteel and Skylynx aren't here because they have been retconned out of existence by the writers ignoring Prime.

Megatron hasn't appeared in RID because he is dead at the bottom of the ocean.

But there are also some holes with this theory
-Sideswipe stating that Optimus Prime is "no longer alive" in Season 1. This correlates with the ending of Predacons Rising where Optimus sacrificed himself.
-Starscream's decapitated arm appearing in issue #6 of the comic. This suggests continuity with the ending of PR (that the Predacons killed him) but why is his arm on the Earth? Did Predaking decide to take it with him as a chew toy?
-All of the new characters appearing in RID must have been the result of the regenerated Well of Allsparks, which Optimus restored in PR. But issue of the Well not producing news sparks was created in PR. We could just pretend that the synthetic energon restored the Well as well (heh), at the end of Prime, thus PR doesn't need to exist.

I am hoping this is not true, because I want Megs (and many others) to show up in RID 2015.
I think the simplest answer is that the writers are lazy and are just using whatever bits and pieces suit their needs, but I thought it was an interesting thing to think about. It's been a while since I watched Prime, so if anyone can remember things better and poke holes in my theory, I'd be happy to hear it :)

    Uh it should be canon.

I don't think we'll see Megatron show up but that doesn't mean he's dead...he's probably having space adventures or something?

No he wasn't. He was frozen for like a couple of episodes. Don't you remember the fight he had with Megatron afterwards in the episode "Synthesis" (I think it was that episode).

For whatever it's worth, I absolutely loved the PR finale. So I really couldn't imagine pretending it didn't happen.

Oh yeah, I'm getting episodes mixed up. He got thrown off the ship in Synthesis right?

Yeah, but at the end of Deadlock, it was revealed that he was holding onto the ship the whole time. So he was on Cybertron at the end of the series.

For the Aligned, it is. May or may not be saving of Cybertron mentioned by Bumblebee to Strongarm.

But it's the MisAligned, so the creators probably are making up canon as they go. Don't bet on how strictly canon it is.

If RID didn't consider Predacons Rising canon, they wouldn't have started out with Optimus being dead, since they clearly wanted to bring him back. Also, Predaking reached Cybertron BEFORE Predacons Rising, didn't he? So, even if Predacons Rising didn't happen, there still has to be a further explanation of why Predaking is on Earth.

I think this is another case of how the storytellers forget the details of their own craft. They focus on the bigger events and that's it. That and Hasbro's butchering of the Binder of Revelations which was the backbone to the continuity to begin with.

To me it seems that at least Prime and Predacons Rising are canon to RID, but they're not treating WFC or FOC as canon.

I feel like RID was originally intended as a standalone series, not in continuity with anything else, and halfway through some higher-up told the writers "Oh BTW, this is a sequel to TFP. Make it work."

I read a string of Twitters that fan asked the writers--things like "Is Megatron still a hermit?" and "What happened to the Vehicons who were working with Bulkhead in Predacons Rising?" and the answer to almost everything was "we don't know." So it's a shaky sequel to TFP, let alone Predacons Rising specifically.

It's called the "aligned" continuity, not the "consistent" continuity. ;)

Exactly remember Megatrons parting words. "Having felt the press of subjugation, I've lost my appetite for it."

I'm more bummed we haven't seen Arcee or the kids yet. Just a "Catching up thing".

    Unless I missed it.

I'm surprised it's still called "continuity". But it was a joke anyway since FoC games were forced to align with TFP.

But yes, technically TFP and NuRID are in the same continuity.

Of course its canon, its the ending of the series! xD but i hear your point. Still, seems like RiD likes to ignore the events of Prime :(
