I've never been in one before. So this is my first. Figured I should do it since this is probably the last chance I'll ever have.

I appreciate that. It's pretty frustrating at times... But I'll definitely keep an eye out for y'all!

Anyone who's interested, I will be selling handmade soap duckies at my booth to pair up with the heavily-rumored Megatron souvenir figure... or any Beast Wars Megatron you happen to own, I suppose.

So in looking for some Louisville local attractions (we usually spend Botcon Sundays sightseeing before the flight home) I noticed that Kentucky Kingdom amusement park will not be open until April 30th, which is too bad since that would have been a fun couple of hours and is close to the airport (and our hotel).

Anyone visited/recommend the Louisville Mega Cavern? Would it been fun for a teenager? As we are arriving Thursday evening, we'll miss the club tour of Marengo Cave in Indiana.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if this have asked and answered. Does anyone know if there will be any dealer that sale 3rd party in or around Botcon convention? I only collect 3rd party now (beside MP) and I don't want to attend the convention if there is no 3rd party.

While I'm sure that there will be some, somewhere, they're having to lay low at present, because FunPub has made it clear that not only are 3rd party products not welcome at the convention, but they're really not even supposed to be in the official convention hotel.

My best suggestion is to keep your eyes open as the convention gets closer. Officially, there won't be anything (Hasbro has made sure of that), but the dealers know that there's a market for folks like you.

Fun Pub and Hasbro have made it clear that absolutely no 3rd party items would be allowed to be sold at Botcon. This Hasbro's official TF convention and their rules are very much firm. I pretty much go to the conventions to hang out with fellow TFans.

This. If I was looking for a place to peruse 3P toys, Botcon is not where I would go.

However, in recent years there have been a lot of pretty great 3P add-ons for the convention exclusives. Renderform, Headrobots, Maketoys, and Perfect Effect have all covered Botcon toys at some point. So if you think the Predacus set might look good with whatever tweaks Renderform or Perefect will probably come up with for it, you'll get more bang for your buck by actually going to the convention instead of ordering an absentee set--and if they don't make any, you can always sell it later.

If you'd be interested in meeting people who have been involved in making the toys, shows, and related media, hearing Vince DiCola and Stan Bush in concert, and have fun hanging out with other fans, then Botcon is still a good call, even without any toys you're interested in.

But if none of the above sounds good, then maybe Botcon isn't what you're looking for.

I love 3P, but Botcon was awesome last year, and it had nothing to do with buying a damn thing. So off I go this year, not a thought of politics or policy even an issue.

I'll put it to you this way, Louisville is the home town of Captured Prey.

In other news I'm looking forward to meeting a few more of our members this year much like this past year. I've never really been into the dealer room thing other then reviles as I have or have on order everything I want already so Botcon, for me, has always been about meeting fellow fans and individuals that have had a hand or two in making this brand what it is today. See y'all in Louisville

I'm sure there will be some off-site 3rd Party thing that will probably be announced at a date closer to the show.

I can't speak to Louisville Mega Cavern, but if you're looking for things to do, I'll suggest this page I've been putting together with others (and thanks for the info, re: Kentucky Kingdom. No one told me about that).

I'm not either. Not even at 4th Street Live's site. Frankly, I wouldn't worry.

(I'm perhaps not the best person to say. I won't be attending the concert, as I have no interest in this event. But, still, nothing else on 4th Street Live's site that "far" out is listed, either, so I don't consider this FunPub's lack of communication.)

I'm sure there's no worry that the concert is happening... But I need to know how to plan with work and life and everything. I live 2 and a half hours away and usually work on Fridays. I need to know if I need to ask the day off, when I need to leave by, etc.

Thanks for pointing me towards your Louisville Survival Guide, G.B. Blackrock! As useful and informative as your Pasadena guide! Appreciate the mention on the page :)  We'll try the Mega Cavern and let everyone know if it's worth visiting.

You will probably have the schedule up for Botcon in a week or so.
