Machine base dioramas.. The best. If thats the correct name, They are for gundams but look great with transformers. And they all connect to make a big display.

They're also expensive and relatively difficult to casually pick up.

I like using these buildable train/construction sets found at Target and Kmart. They're I-beams that you use to build everything from a drawbridge to a skyscraper. I can't remember the name of the sets, but they're made by Jakks Pacific.

I use kotobukias mechanical chain bases. part of their Modeling Support Goods line. M.S.G. Which I believe they have stopped making. I ordered them through hobby link japan. So I'd watch there if they come back in.

I also am working on another setup. Useing something more common.
a 3.25 inch figure scaled line called world peacekeepers you can pick up at big lots has a command center that really helped add a more industrial flavor to one of my transformers displays.

The USS Flagg makes a great transformers display
If you have the room and if you can find it.

I have the imaginext sky racers aircraft carrier. Its large enough and I think it looks ok, you can even store jets below and bring them up on the elevator. So cool.

I think you are referring to the sets that go along with the Power Trains line. These building sets appear to be reusing parts from an old series called Girder and Panel.

That Power City stuff looks to have potential.

    Yep, also a good choice.

I use Tomy's HyperCity Tomica for city displays. However, they're best used with Legends/Cyberverse figures.

While that Power Tains/Girder and Panel stuff looks interesting, it just reminded me that I actually have a giant-ass tub (almost as large as a bathtub) filled with old Construx pieces I recovered from my grandparents house - no instructions and a few of the thousands of connector bits are broken slightly but for being the old playthings of my older cousins possibly dating to 1983, they are surprisngly robust to this day.

And while I seriously doubt they could withstand the weight of a few voyagers, this thread has gotten me seriously considering digging them out of the subeteranean cavern of junk that is my basement for the purposes of Gunpla platform use.

There are KO's of the chain bases out there. They usually sell around $5 per piece where I'm at.
