His torso is molded differently as well as his " skirt vents ". An you can't forget those giant pieces of hip kibble . Ugh ! That thing was ugly looking AF.

I LOOOVE this Masterpiece schedule...and with the 3rd parties as well, my shelf is filling out QUITE NICELY.

 

Besides very different molded detailing, you can see that Kobayashi's original had solid hips on the side, ankle tilts, no forearm gaps, and the wings were engineered differently. They did not splay out, they were on a double hinge which folded them back then out, making them a bit less wide and also pushing them back away from the arms and legs to give them more clearance. Kawamori later changed that and made the wings splay to allow space for the hip kibble he added.

Like others have said, MP-11 is not the original MP-3 prototype. It appears Kobayashi had a limited budget to change Kawamori's MP-3 which is why we're still stuck with the splay wings.

No skin off my eyeballs... I won't see a shiny penny or yen even if they use this exact scheme.

I am hoping if/when they do re-release him, he comes with the little add on pack in homage to the G1 toy. I have a seeker character based around it and this colorization scheme. I may have to make it if not.

 

That color scheme makes me want a mp slipstream so i can move the starscream tfp redeco out of there.

 

I'd slaughter some newborn Minicons to get a MP Slipstream. I'd slaughter them anyway, but... you know...

 

Man, that would have been neat. Still, I'm fine with the MP-11 mold. It fixes a lot of what I didn't like with MP-3. As Starscream is my favorite Decepticon, I'm pleased he got retooled, but a version with the splaying wings would rock.
