Well, since this official and non-transforming, we'll at least we have a nice high end robot mode to compare to Planet X's effort.

Non-transforming Transformer sort of defeats the purpose, no?

How can you even compare them? A fair comparison would be Planet X and Second Chance. This thing doesn't even transform and might be like 18"

The Loyal Subjects have all the comic AND cartoon characters. Way past the 4 turtles. And they are action figures probably more articulated then playmates bar their classics stuff

About this. I don't see what they would sell THIS version of Prime if he doesn't transform.

FoC Optimus is one of the coolest Optimus Prime aesthetic IMO.

    I am excited for this.

I've seen more people complain about character overuse in this thread than I have in any thread about 3P Devastator or Dinobots. It's fine if 10 companies make these guys but heaven forbid a company make another Optimus.

Compare the number of Optimi that have been released over the years. Now compare the number of Devastators and Dinobots. Optimus completely out numbers the other two. It's simply Optimus over saturation. It's like that one bad ass song everyone loves to hear, but after the stations play it over and over and Over and OVER again, one grows tired of hearing it. Sadly, HasTak has done this with Optimus.

They really need to take a non-short break from Optimus. Then bring him back after time elapses, especially during some obscure or pivotal event and watch everyone go apeshit - "Holy fucking crap! Optimus is back!"

Nice, but I'll go for a cheaper transforming Planet-X take on that one.

I hope there is more than just Prime. I would like to have Starscream, Jetfire, Shockwave, Airraid, Slipstream, and Silverbolt. The WFC game got me back into collecting.

if it is officially licensed and not made by Hasbro then it won't transform. Hasbro won't allow any licensed figures transform. We learned that when Hasbro announced that Shapeways deal.

Oh I get Hasbro's stance regarding licensed figures. But regardless of who produces the figure, be it official or 3rd Party, what is the point of a non-transforming transformer? :lol

Damn that FOC Prime looks great. I wish the Planet X version had those proportions. I love that anime styling.

Eh, people still buy Hulk figures even though they don't turn into Bruce Banner. Besides, without having to worry about transforming they can put the joints wherever they need them and they can stylize his proportions without considering his alt mode. Not to mention some people don't transform their figures and many of us just like Transformers things. I have a little shrine of Loyal Subjects figures, Pez dispensers, candy tins, playing cards, Metal Earth figures and the like. It's just another part of the hobby for some.

I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it was affordable. FOC Prime was the figure that got me back into collecting and I'd love to have a high end official collectible of him. It's good to see FOC get some love.

I dig it. And the MAS stuff. And the 3A stuff. I get why they are what they are, HasTak keeps the TFing aspect. Bottom line, this is what I want but transforming. Officially. From Takara, Hasbro, or a licensee, either way. High quality, Masterpiece plus, modern era Transformers.
