Man I've got some great stuff on the way. Next week is gonna be a big week. Hobby Search is sending me MP Hot Rod, MP Ultra Magnus and Springer reissue. Then I've got me a MPP-10 Oversized Prime and MP-21R Bumblebee Red coming from Ebay. Can't wait!!!

 

This mold is one of the best transformers ever and the funniest thing is i originally only bought it because i got the case just for blitzwing. That Blitzwing is a total fail.

 

I don't know, I think Springer is somewhat of a fail too, he doesn't tab together very well in Car mode. And the yellow paint on the shoulders is very uneven.

I agree. A little remolding would go a long way as well.

BTW, this is a custom by Cheetimus. I added the removable shoulder and thigh pads. BB is my work entirely.

 

Wow thats awesome! So that left side was a bit of a chore but it did tab in all the way. That paint is uneven on the shoulders, true true but to say its a fail is crazy. This toy is fantastic! I love it

 

True... to call it a fail is way off base... it just seems many want to put it in some upper echelon category. I can't do that.

 

Aside from his derpy looking tank mode, rubber nosecone, and shoulder's Blitzwing's still a good figure (I would know owning three versions of it.) AT the very least his alt modes all tab together flawlessly and he has ankle tilts.
Springer's car mode seems to be a QC lottery; mine has one side that refuses to tab together no matter what and that actually annoys me far more than Blitzwing's shoulders.

Are there alt mode pics of this? I love the Skyhammer mold but this would absolutely beat that every time.

 

The left side tabs in. It is a pain in the ass no doubt. Figure is borderline mp by todays standards. It is upper echelon category as far as chugs go. Top 10 chug of all time.

 

Yeah, Springer was the clear highlight of 2014. Blitzwing isn't the worst toy ever, and the 3P upgrade kits definitely help fix his robot mode issues...but Springer is a beast. I'd even buy this mold in pink with neon green stripes and purple wheels

I was worried the green on this might be a bit too bright, but in-hand this is really nice.

This is one of the molds I don't know if I'll ever get tired of. Can we please get a Crossblades and Blue Bacchus from this already? And can Takara take a look at the Sandstorm version and crank out Skyhammer and maybe even Turbo Master? Keep it coming.

 

That's good to hear. I can't wait for mine to arrive... looks like it won't be till Tuesday though. This will be my first experience with this version of the mold, having only Sandstorm up to this point.

 

And what do you think about the "Hasbro Transformers Platinum Edition Autobot Heroes" Springer version?

 

1. It's shiny.

2. I'm not getting it.

 

I wish I could find this version of Springer for a decent price anywhere.
