i wonder the same thing.....RID2015 was a complete failure in cartoon networks hands as they never once attempted to promote it

i do see why they didn't let it air on discovery family(formerly the hub)as that channel seems to be on auto pilot half the time with them not giving a crap about obtaining new content and new cartoons

after this whole mess i do wanna know what hasbro plans to do because RID2015 didn't last that long and i find it hard to believe they have a replacement up their sleeves in the near future

After their HUB failed, CN is almost the only game in town. Where else would they take their cartoon?

I know it's before the time of most people here, but CN has historically not given a flying fuck about Transformers. Every show they've aired since Armada has been casually tossed into the 6:00 am death slot.

I haven't had cable in forever, but Nickelodeon? That or Hasbro can follow Marvel and Lego's example by making it Netflix exclusive.

Instead of going to CN, Hasbro could have tried to get RID on Nicktoons or Disney XD. Both networks treat acquired shows with more respect than CN does. I can't see why Hasbro would even bother with CN after they shafted the Unicron Trilogy and Animated, unless Nick and Disney weren't interested.

I wish they weren't so quick to abandon The Hub though.

Netflix feels like the future of Transformers. No more BS from Cartoon Network or really any network (as even Disney XD threw around Gravity Falls' air dates, and it was their highest rated show, and Nick screwed Korra big time after a highly successful first season with the best ads the network could provide).

RID2015 was not canceled. It was only commissioned by Cartoon Network for 2 Seasons.
However, I will agree that Cartoon Network is a cesspool, so I would love for Transformers to stay off the network.

It was underperforming so Hasbro cut it short of the usual 3 seasons. IIRC someone at Hasbro even said this, and mentioned wanting the next series to be, ugh...Bayformers-inspired.

So yeah, it was cancelled early.

As much as I liked Prime, it had a lot more Bayformers influence than it needed. Would rather not have another series follow suit.

Were CN and Hasbro really expecting the show to perform well in a 6:30am time slot? I don't like RID'15 all that much, but even if it was amazing it never stood a chance in such an awful timeslot. A new series in a graveyard slot has basically been set up to fail.

I see you failed to recall the article for the Season 2 premiere, which clearly stated that Cartoon Network had commissioned the series for only 2 Seasons, and a TV movie. The whole "Bayformers cartoon" speculation is just a rumor right now.

And the first season wasn't under-performing, as viewership proved last year.

How the hell did they think Prime wasn't explicitly inspired by the films? Similar main theme, most of the designs are hardly more than copy-pasted from film to cartoon, hell even Jack Darby's usual dress is too similar to Shia's garb in the first film to be a mere coincidence.

Why do you think everybody's called it the "death" slot already?

    Avatar says hi.

Hard to believe it is cancelled when one of the production staff mentioned working on a "season 3/4" storyboards in a Twitter post just a few weeks ago.
And it is worth reiterating (again) that Cartoon Network is only the broadcast partner. They are NOT financing this series, only paying for the broadcast rights to it. If they don't want to carry Transformers after season 2, Hasbro is well within their rights to look for other partners (I'm still going with Netflix myself).

Star Wars Clone Wars aired its first 5 seasons on Cartoon Network, but when the network dumped it, Netflix picked it up for the last season. Many of the Dreamworks animated series (like Dragons and Penguins and its spinoffs) started on broadcast networks before moving entirely to Netflix.

Considering Hasbro's recent financial reports and Toy Fair showing, I'm suspecting RiD is doing a LOT better than a lot of people really want to believe.

Gentle reminder that the stuff is storyboarding new episodes right now.

Hasbro would not be paying for work on a new material if they were wrapping up production. Do not trust weak reports from this site that take "Hasbro was only selling 2 seasons at an event last year" as "HASBRO IS CANCELLING IT AND THE NEXT MOVIE IS BAYFORMERS INSPIRED"

Thestaff even closed the thread that reported on that simply because Silver Optimus doesn't want to admit he did a hasty reporting job and hopes others forget he jumped the gun instead of admiting an error.

    It's just flat out silly.
