I Don't think Takara got the concept of the Mini-cons for these sets. aren't the sets supposed to be "vs" sets. with the Ball-type mini-cons being Deceptions.

 

I wonder if that means Takara have an Autobot cyclone deployer up their sleeves? Maybe overload repainted as impactor?

 

They were in the US but that idea seem to went right over there head. I will admit the decos are pretty cool and I like Bumblebee comes with the smoke colored pieces.

Id love to have overload colored as Impactor. Maybe even some retooling would be nice.

 

probably Takara thought that the big bots vs the Minicons two pack doesn't make any damn sense, which also sounds like the big guys are bullying the Minicons, as opposed to well, an Autobot Minicon vs a Decepticon Minicon which is a much more appropriate vs two pack, being from the same type of classification, thus they made them partners instead of enemies, its almost like Pokemon except you imprison your Pokemon for life instead of making them your man's best friend.........  

 

I wasn't going to get these Takara versions at first, but ......

 

They look pretty good all things considered.

 

I wish someone would make upscaled versions of the armor that fit onto the deluxe scale (or Voyager, for Grimlock) figures somehow. That would be very cool.

 

Takara being Takara they are more into the 'aibo' or 'nakama' partnership/ buddy cop dynamics more than fighting / brutality. I dig.

 

If the Microns aren't on the show, who cares what they do with them? And who's to say that the Micron shooters stop with Overload and Crazybolt?

That said, while I like the idea of these, they still don't look that great. The Microns look good, but the base figures...meh.

 

I dunno, IMO the Prime fig is actually pretty decent... I've seen the Hasbro 2 packs of these here in Malaysia and I found them to be okay. They are slightly bigger than their original Legends class figs. I believe these are new moulds.

 

this bumblebee and sideswipe look great together, but what size are these? deluxe?

The figures are commander scale from cyberverse, just a touch bigger. Or scout size if you prefer.

The minicons look better in Hasbro colours, the bright colours make them quite ugly imo. Not much added or better colours on the main takara figures either. I will just go with what i can get....

 

Can't say I'm a fan of the 'color-matched Minicon sidekick' idea.


On closer inspection, only Optimus' ball-guy is copying his colors, though Sideswipe's guy matches Bumblebee.

 

I can't get myself into these because I can't get over how the mini-cons look like bakugon

Hey no probs dude. I was honestly tempted to pick up that Prime 2pack when I saw it on my local dept. store toy aisle.

 

All four of these are up on AmiAmi now, added everything to my April order.

 

Do it. If you wanna do something crazy, you could just use the hammer like a turret just like in Bert the Stormtrooper's review of Optimus and Bludgeon.
