My 4th cel shaded version of Grimlock, certainly not my last. But unlike the past versions I went an extra step by adding a sort of inked effect to the cel shading to make him appear more comic book like. The reason i went for this is because the devastation game brought about a more dynamic and somewhat more exaggerated approach to cel shading than the G1 cartoon did, which I found more in common with the style of a comic over the 80's animation. I personally still prefer the simplicity of the cartoon over the game, but for the sake of continuity with my previous versions, I hope he fits well. Thanks for looking guys! :D

I have to say I love your work, they don't even look like figures any more. They really look like animation models and that is just bloody amazing. You are awesome. Thank you for showing us your work.

These are actually making me rethink my collecting. As in, I need to stop buying so much, and commission paint jobs like this.

    Friggin amazing work.

Nice. Next, please paint the Vault Hunters from Borderlands 1, 2 and the Pre-Sequel like this.

when i started looking at cel shading customs, they looked so sharp and cartoon-like figures. i wish these were done long time ago where 3rd party combiners were not out yet. dont get me wrong, the time and effort that is put into this kind of work is abosolutely amazing! im speechless myself. but as of now, it would be hard to sell these cel shaded custom figures. i saw one on ebay last night on oversize mp10. his starting price is 499 plus shipping. that is like more than 50% of the amount you would have paid for a 3rd party combiner like warbotron, shuraking, etc. cel shading is becoming popular now but for me, i wouldn't pay that much because number 1, people dont have money and can't afford it. if these customs appeared, let's say, about 8-10 years ago, im sure they would sell left and right. But if you are doing it for your own collection, kudos to you! just my 02 cent.

Just FYI Stormbringer has been cel shading Long before it became a "thing". I remember seeing his first grimlock and optimus more than 4 years ago, hell there was another customizer called frogdna that started the whole cel style even longer before that. Whether you would pay for a piece like this or not is your own prerogative, but from how awesome this looks, I'd say it's worth every penny. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Wow. That is simply amazing. Several of those pictures look more like animation models than a painted figure. Absolutely beautiful.

    Another beautiful paint-job.

I made a mistake with the voting, I meant to vote for the upcoming Hot Rod / Rodimus. :X Though I wouldn't mind seeing any of them given a Cel-shaded look.
