I want this character to get a new toy. This G2 Sandstorm character would be merged with the G1 Battle Gaia Sandstorm and be repainted from Voyager Doubledealer. It would have G2 Decepticon insignias in jet mode and G1 Decepticon insignias in tank mode.

And since his appearance has never been revealed, this Decepticon Sandstorm would have originated in the Shattered Glass universe as the evil Autobot Sandstorm. Yes, even 1992 Battle Gaia Sandstorm.

People will pay over the odds for unreleased figures and prototypes especially if those form the focus of their collection. If people can pay that and want to pay that, it's their money and their choice. There's a buyers market for everything.

Do I find the prices crazy? Just a tad. But it doesn't mean I'm gonna start throwing insults around about people dropping the money they want to spend on what makes them happy to complete their collection. There's enough sub forums on the board for that already.

    To each their own.

Not actually sure if you're worth the effort of taking on, the gambling man in me suggests not.. but all my post did was try to articulate the reasoning behind this piece and others like it being of great importance to certain collecting types. There's a wealth of history within the brand whether you care for it or not, and this one is a rare part of it.

As I said though, to each their own. And welcome to the boards. Have you tried the 3P and Movie forums?

Yeah man what's your problem? You're clearly trolling. If you lived in big-boy world you would know that $3k isn't a lot to some people. Did you not see the situation with G2 menasor last year?

We just differ on "reasoning". I'm well aware of the history of the brand and have many pieces of this history including rarities built from collecting near 30 years. Because of this, I can easily reflect and see that sometimes this fandom goes too far and pays extreme amounts for pieces that just aren't worth it all in the name of "history". I'm guilty and as a result now I laugh about it and laugh when I see others doing it.

I have no interest in 3Ps, I only collect official.

I actually collect prototypes, and I wouldn't touch this. Not now, not with the past 10 years of seeker casts floating around. I hate to be that guy, but I highly doubt this is legit.

    It's possible, but I wouldn't recommend it.

This is one step along the chain from the hand painted mock up I had of this figure. mine was hand painted on top of a production G2 Ramjet, but the artwork print I had of this was similar to the test shot the seller has been offering for a few years.
