Just had some thoughts around the lack of Arcade mode in this game. As its not too of a hard thing to implement and even though a slightly dated format still expected as an easy entry point could the fact that it is missing at this stage be for definite reason? Maybe the boss of the arcade mode could be a spoiler for that better looking CGI story mode we are getting in June? If I am on the right track and we will be eventually getting an arcade mode and (maybe unplayable) boss, who do you think it could be be? New character? Shin M.Bison? Akuma? Or could the precence of Urien signal Gill again?

Is there any way to specify what region you want to join your battle lounge? You could always do same region in SF4 but they don't seem to have that simple option here or am I wrong?

The reason for Arcade Mode being missing (Among other things) is they rushed it to have it available for Capcom World Cup.

Oh and it's definitely not dated as just about every fighting game before it has had something akin to one.

Not just world cup, Capcom haven't been having the best of years recently and they wanted this out before the end of the fiscal year to boost their profit before year ends in order to appease investors.

It also didn't have an actual arcade release, although that's not a great reason either.

Can't wait for them to do something about rage quitting. Real annoying.

I'm just blown away by this huge outcry for Arcade mode. All through SF4's lifetime no one gave a crap about it. Too busy playing online. Brought it up anywhere on the net and you would've gotten a lot of "who gives a shit about Arcade mode?" type of responses. Now all of a sudden everyone cares so much about a mode they'd play once or twice and then completely forget about? Not defending the lack of it. I just don't think it's worth the amount of shit people are throwing about it.

As for why it's not there, my theory is because of Fight Money. Capcom may have not been sure or overly concerned how to handle it best. Only getting FM once or once per difficulty would've caused people to complain. Some people are complaining about Survival for the same reason. No FM at all would be worse. And repeatable would just give people a means to farm it, which Capcom certainly wouldn't want, unless they made the FM reward pitifully low, which people would complain about.

Just a no-Win scenario for Capcom there. Should've gone with the first option there though and not been so concerned about complaints. People are just gonna complain no matter what anyway.

Remember in Vanilla Street Fighter IV where everyone was complaining about having to go through Arcade mode?

Were you still playing Arcade mode 4 years later or were you playing online?
    I was playing online.

I have to agree and it's hard to think back to early IV time now being so long ago now and how experienced everyone got at that game but the early days of vanilla IV was just like this with the hype and nostalgia drawing in players who thought the pinnacle of skill was jump hard kick into sweep or spamming fireballs or jumps. Those players quickly rage quit, got good or moved onto annoyingly exploitable characters like Blanka which this game fortunately doesn't provide them.

I personally haven't been performing to the best of my ability and I have taken a few humiliating defeats (you never know you could have been one of them, my name is gregles777 on it) This is partly because I became a little too overfamiliar and reliant on the safety zone of my main in IV so now I'm having to learn someone new which is often difficult with them not making the cut in V. I do think they could help us out in this area just a little with some combo trials or tutorials which I know we might end up getting in a patch but for now I've been relying on trial and error and watching YouTube videos of great players using my potential future mains to see roughly how to play them for the best. I know there is no real excuse for not learning all by ourselves and getting through the humiliating pain barrier is all part of the fun but I think a little help could be necessary for some as I beat a Necali player and seeing them trying to figure him out before my eyes was painful to watch and I think some 3rd strike online edition style help could have made it easier for them. It could also help get certain types of noobish players out of their ryu/Ken safety zones it could be a great thing.

I knew it would be worse than SF4 but I didn't expect it to be this bad lol. In 5 days I've played one decent player online, not even kidding. People literally just spamming special moves and mashing buttons. There's no thinking or reasoning behind it they're just doing stuff. I've had players just mash buttons even when I'm nowhere near them. Are they even looking at the screen?

How salty does one have to be to ragequit a CASUAL match?

And I'm pretty shit, so...least I got a good laugh out of it.

I kind of rage quit the other day but it was by no mean the players fault it was the 4th game i had that was so laggy we were jumping to other sides of the screen randomly, so I just gave up on it. I get my ass kicked i take it as it is I'm not that good and I'm begrudgingly playing online till more single player stuff comes cause I bought the game and feel stuck with it.

Honestly, SF4 was just as bad on day one. It seems the good players are mainly doing battle lounge right now.

I played 2, 2T and Z3 a lot. I played some 3.3 too but only a few hours of vanilla 4 so when it comes to modern SF, I consider myself a beginner.

I've been playing 5 for 4 days now and, again, as a beginner, I'm liking it a lot. Maybe that's because I didn't even try online yet : I figured there was no point in trying it until I have a reasonable level so I'm trying to learn some combos, get more used to the basic V mechanics (I still have issues with counter grap and V Reversal) and get good enough to be able to clear Hell Survival with my main (I used to play shotos in past SF but I wanted to try something different this time and went with Cammy) first.

Sure I would have prefered a complete game (I hate the DLC concept, I'm always afraid of not being able to replay games in their entirety in 15 years or so) but in all honesty, for a beginner like me, there's more than enough offline content to wait and learn until the online works fine. The only thing it's really missing right now IMO is a more in depth in game tutorial (basic combos and such) but it sounds like Challenge mode will get that fixed next month.

well I just dipped on this for ps4 since the only people who seem to be running sfv fine on PC (from steam feedback) are those with 980ti's. not paying another $600 just to play this game :lol

at least I could still get the amazon prime discount, so it only ran me around $55 even with tax and one day shipping. hopefully a 3 month sub to ps+ will give capcom enough time to fix/optimize the pc version so I can hop back over there when it's patched.
