Yeah they won't work quite so in combined mode, but mine will only ever go into that mode for the review I do, then neeeeeeeeverrrr again.

They are only on friction tabs so easy enough to just pop off and flip round  

 

Update: Mcluskyism and Dee just turned up as a group left so we now have a table on the way in, plus one bloody stag group left...

MP Ironhide in da house! Did I win the AE SAL race? I know some of you have had him for over a week but it's awesome to finally have him in hand. The chrome bumpers are fine and there are no other QC issues I can see so that's good. I've had just enough time to transform him before going out for the night, will spend some quality time with him on Sunday.

Loving the pics of cw sky lynx, but I've decided I'd only get him if he's released at general retail. And that's a big IF...
I just make do with my encore version which iirc set me back £40 from eBay way back when.

 

Because of the lukewarm reviews, I think I like him more because I was expecting less...if that makes sense.

Seeaich, Banjo - I just tightened the scews on the back feet as tight as I could get them and now they are reasonably solid. Out of the package any weight on them at all caused them to just give up the ghost. Now they are much better.

I've got a bone to pick with all the reviewers that skipped the 'Fan modes' though, they come together so well and easily I have a hard time there's no deliberate design intent there. Personally I like the CW's winged sphinx cat mode better than G1's lump of a lynx.

Great minds, Liam, I've just given mine a couple of light turns plus the blue wing joints as one of mine was a bit floppy (a small shake down would loose it from the wing in shuttle mode).
I gave homebrew Sky Reign a whirl earlier with the fins swapped for shuttle mode and, well, it works for me!



Makes him the only the third combiner after Ultra Prime/Optimus Maximus and Menasor to not have a flying 'V' ish chest.
That's Ratchet as his good right sword hand, Red Alert's his itchy trigger finger, Proto-Streak as the right leg and Prowl subbing for Smokescreen on the left, or sinister, side.

I love that Red Alert you conjured up - it is such a clever repurposing of First Aid.


Sky Lynxs fan Lynx mode is not terrible and it certainly does a job in a mode nobody would have ever displayed him in anyway. He's a fun toy to mess with and even the combiner torso looks nice. Actually it is probably one of the best looking torsos so far....even if I will pretend it doesn't exist except when Sky Lynx gets drunk and peer pressures his pals into trying to do a robot pyramid.
