Nope. Completely agree with you. They should have just released the whole Ollie figure as a kit we put together ourselves. Would have probably ended up better.

THAT SAID THOUGH.. After doing fixes and tweaks that I shouldn't have; he was WELL worth the $45.00 or so I paid for him. Maybe less. Other than being semi-fragile, he's awesome meow.

Yeah. We all thought their Scourge was going to be the definitive turning point. Mine is flawless and looks *amazing.*

I bet Keith was like, "hmm. Let's actually spend slightly more money this time and up our game, just this once so people will start buying again. And then we'll go back to our old shitty practices."

Hope CP gets theirs "soon" (probably after CNY...), so I can see for myself.

I don't think Ollie is something you should base your overall opinion of XTB on, but nonetheless, disasterpiece is pretty funny.

I agree with this (both bits  ). I own several XTB figures, and whilst they're not exactly consistently great in terms of quality, they're not consistently poor either. In reality, the truth is somewhere in between.

The figure I have had the most issues with is actually Apollyon, though many swear they haven't had a single problem. I myself have only had one minor issue with Ollie; other than that he's been pretty neat overall. I have only minor issues with Boost (one tiny snapped peg), Hatch (mismatched paint) & Arkose (couple of bits that pop off, no biggie), and absolutely none with Andras, who in my opinion remains the best quality figure they have put out. I also own Glider and he's not bad either. So, it's a bit of a mix, in my experience.

I'm still in for Eligos. :)

Is that a modded Stax? He looks more like the 'toon. Very nice.

Haha, thanks! I kinda like it myself. :)

not necessarily, they love repaints like everyone else. i do like that they usually change the character fairly drastically, like they did with ollie and whatever that gobot was. apollyon might be the one that didnt get re-released as a repaint?

Sonic (Turbo). I don't think I ever actually saw anyone review Sonic so I have no idea if it was actually any better then Ollie.

And do the Sweeps count as repaints of Andras?

Flesh Creature can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think he meant a v2 in terms of repaints, just a v2 with improved QC. I know technically KFC and XTB are different, but for the sake of argument they can be considered the same. That said, Transistor is an example in which a v2 was made with improved QC and an unpainted Hi-Fi without the v1s first selling out. Then of course after that was Transistor v3 with v2s still out there...although I guess v3 could be considered a repaint.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Apollyon v1s had sold out before Apollyon v2 rolled out either.

I have mixed feelings about XTB\KFC... I have every one of their main releases starting with Krank and really like them all. That said, I can't deny that compared to FansToys and BadCube, they do need a little extra....care.... I did have to Future up both Krank and Stax to not bend backwards from their backpacks. Ollie I had to trim plastic at the knee to stand straight and cut small bands of electrical tape to wrap around his hip joints. The thighs were so loose, that Future wasn't going to cut it. Apollyon needed a new hip due to a snapped tab and he needed a new chest from v2. My v1 had unbearably noticeable dimples. My Transistor v1 needed his toon head replaced because it didn't fit right on the neck (bobble head). Not really a QC issue, but my Fader was missing his guns and optional heads out of the box. Andras and the unpainted Transistor are actually the only XTB\KFC figures that I haven't had to do some additional thing to. All this being said, I still love each and every one of those figures. As others have said, you shouldn't have to 'fix' these expensive figures, but once you get them 'right', they really are phenomenal.

I guess my point is... by now you should expect to have to work out the kinks in an XTB\KFC product. So long as they are willing to continue to work through retailers for replacement parts, I'm perfectly happy to continue buying their products. I will, however, wait to buy until a few weeks after release from now on to see if a v2 comes out, and what needs to be looked out for. I will never preorder one of their products ever again.

I'm on the same page. I bought the v2 Apollyon while the V1s were still available in a few places. Mine had fewer (not zero) QC issues. So I'm waiting for either a reduced price on v1 Arkose or a v2.

Your last point resonates with me. I won't be preordering an XTB product in the foreseeable future. I am hoping they ride the momentum from Scourge and product a quality first run of Dante.

all correct, just that they seem to go together for KFC.
v2 seems to have a few ways of manifesting, but usually has the fixes and rarely addresses early adopters. could be:

    - the plain reissue of the same toy with fixes; (apollyon, blaster w/o flaking paint or gloppy wet Eject)
    - the reissue with 'correct coloring' (mugan perceptor, i would group the red plastic blaster under this category.
    - repaint/retool (every mugan).
    i could go on.

i guess it depends on what a v2 means to you - to me its anything positive resulting from avoiding it in the first 3-4 months (lower price, better qc, fixes). probably won see a lot of fixes on andras, but i definitely wish i would have waited and split a 3 pack with a few others and paid $100ish instead of $160 like i did.
when i get suckered like that i can only applaud the makers, like, damn, that was smooth; and kick myself like,

    Sonic... ahhh he's terrible!
I had 1 Sonic break which was replaced.
I tried (in order) Future, nail polish, super glue, tissue paper, & lastly blue tact (yes blue tact) on his loose legs.
They remain so loose he won't stand & not even close to standing.
Sonic is as cheaply made as Ollie w/ every single problem Ollie had.
At least Ollie looks the part as an MP far away.
Sonic has all of his shortcomings along with being non-screen accurate in both modes to boot, lol.

Oh, OK, but the face looks different from what I have seen before, as other pics always seem to have a single red visor (with no 'nose' or anything). Just done a little more research and there appears to be two versions - does he come with an alternate face?

    Nope, just a sliding visor.
