As in characterization...in comics cartoons or otherwise..like EX:I found thunderblast an incredibly annoying character...most lyrics cause she tangible over mega/galvatron
Windblade. A simpering, naive, hypocrite in a geisha costume, marketed as THE female transformer and stuffed down our throats at every possible turn. It's utterly laughable that she's supposed to be a foil for Starscream, and I'd I would actively pay IDW NOT to produce TAAO.
Exactly. There is no universally liked character. There is no universally relatable character. Not every character is going to have the deepest or clearest motivations and goals. Heck, not every character should be deep; some should be more light-hearted and fun. Not everyone is going to be annoyed by the same characters. What may be "the worst" to me may be one of "the best" to others, and vice versa.
Are we looking at the worst at their job? Worst in terms of ethics? Most irritating character? Most repugnant characterization? Laziest writing? Most grating voice? Etc. etc. etc. Be specific.
I can see why some can see why some hate Wheelie, and when it stems from the 86' movie, he was pretty annoying and useless. IDW, managed to do a decent job with making him a little more likable, but certainly not a favorite. I personally feel BW Scorpinok was the worst. Very poor characterization, always screwing up his inventions, and a poor combatant compared to other characters. I didn't hate him, but felt nothing when he was killed off.
I love her look. I don't IDW so i made her character a cold calculated assassin type kunoichi. Even bought that chibi legends figure and made her a micromaster on my mp shelf.
I actually think this is an interesting point. Which is worse? The character that annoys you? Or the character that bores you or that you feel indifferent to? I'd guess it would depend. If it's annoying characters, I'd say a lot of the 1986 Autobots. If it's indifference, I'd say Windblade (and indeed most femmebots outside of Animated and the Beast Era), most versions of Sideswipe, and Prime Optimus.
Right now, IDW Tailgate tops the list. He's the biggest mary-sue I've seen in ages, especially in the most recent issue.
Eh I just wish I knew what gender to consider Tailgate but I'll leave that subject alone due to the fact how much it confuses me. Anyways on the topic at hand, who I consider to be the worse TF character I would have to say is Reflector. It's three Decepticons that turn into on tiny camera and they aren't even useful because they while they have shown to use their camera form to do recon, their job is made pointless by Laserbeak. I think that may be one of the reason they faded into obscurity during the cartoon's run. Though I will admit I don't know how they are in the comics and my knowledge of them only stems from the G1 cartoon.
He has no gender along with the majority of those who stayed on Cybertron after the war began. If you recall Arcee was the only Cybertronian (Not colonists who deserted) who was given a gender and that was because of experimentation. As for the colonists, gender was evolution. As for why I refer to Tailgate as a he is simply because that's how Cybertronians are referenced. There's even a point when one refers to Arcee as a he and she corrects him. Personally, Tailgate doesn't bother me. I rather like the arc between him and Cyclonus.
Oh, that makes sense. I mainly got confused with the whole Ingenue thing and Susan Blu voicing Tailgate in Prevenge while the comics referred to Tailgate as "he." So I guess it's basically the NiGHTS scenario.
