I wonder if I could modify gen. Windblade to have RID's legs.

When I go into a store I don't see any Transformers.....so old, new, anything would be nice.

Oh so its a case of bad stock.

Right...I get that. Australia's David Jones has stopped selling them completely to make room for Star Wars, Myers is sticking to Platinum releases that sell out way too fast, Kmart rarely has any stock, and Target loses its stock because of how popular they are.

Nice idea and nice paint on Bee...and heck yeah, Grimlock SHOULD be a voyager. I think we might have a platinum edition winner here, folks....depending on price.

Um, haven't Windbade's wings always been facing the opposite way to Starscream's anyway?

Ignoring the fact that the Warrior class Optimus has also been repainted and retooled to death in this line (in fact MORE than the Bumblebee mold).

I wonder how much that Platinum set will set you back?

Which is the first time in ages. Usually Bumblebee gets all the repaints.

The Platinum set with Bumblebee and Grimlock looks interesting. Though knowing Hasbro, it'll probably go for about $70. If it goes for around $50 though, I might jump on it

Also, does anyone know why warriors Grimlock and Sideswipe were on display? Is there some kind of running change to them or something? Seems odd for them to display stuff that was released almost a year ago

Maybe they're re-releasing them? Perhaps Sideswipe will have better QC.

    Doubt it though.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe they fixed Sideswipe's collar and Grimlock's elbows

The box that Grimlock's shown in here is a bit different from the original release, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Maybe. Maybe they're just filling out wave space, such as when they re-released Motormaster and Onslaught a few waves later.

The packaging seems to imply some kind of Mini-Con support, too. Gold Armor had fixed elbows, so I'd assume this one does. Guess, I'm buying ANOTHER RiD Grimlock (One exploded, replaced it with an untouched one for fear of exploding, then got Gold Armor and the Takara Voyager, too).

Prime always gets a crap ton of repaints as well. AOE barely featured any Bees with the new camero having three or four decos (four counting TTs as separate) Evasion Mode Optimus had a crap ton. Bee did get MORE mold reuses for TFP but Optimus got several different molds and most importantly both Hasbro and Takara still used the voyager multiple times (granted one was Magnus). Each previous movie line also saw every Optimus mold get several uses. Bumblebee is NOT the only one constantly getting repainted; he's just always a deluxe so he's always up top on the pegs as opposed to lower on the shelves.
How is the gold armor one? does it have less issues?

The plastic on the elbows with the ratcheting joints is clearly thicker. IDK if that has prevented all cases of exploding elbows yet or not, but Hasbro clearly saw that it was a problem and did something about it. The colors are pretty bad, but my girlfriend painted the orange parts gold with a Gundam marker and the figure looks great now. I really liked the green one until it exploded on me after a few months. I think it's worth grabbing if you already liked the mold, but were worried about the QC. Just keep in mind the paint is very bare.

As a collector of both Joes and TFs too, I always find it funny when I juxtapose all the pissing and moaning on TWF2005 in pretty much any hasbro product reveal against the people on hisstank saying "how spoiled/good TF fans have it"

I can't wait to get my hands on legion class Groundpounder!

I hope they make a warrior class version of him and make a legion class Headlock to go with him and I'll be happy! :)
