Mhhh I noticed that in all the press pictures of the helmet it had orange-ish tinted eyes, and I saw the helmet totay and it dident have the orange-ish tint.Wonder witch one they made first?

Well my mom wants a OP helmet of her own so were going to the store to get another one. That mean I will be getting Cullen's voice version soon.

I just hope the voice changer part sounds like cullen though.

Probably because they announced Cullen as Prime after they had the other guy record the lines and sent it off to be programmed on the the chips, but in enough time to have Cullen record them as well.

I got the version with Gary Chalk. Will have to get the Cullen version also....

 

Here's some info worthy of note--another easy way to tell the difference.

The scan number on the helmet WITH Cullen is 5356926302.

The scan number on the helmet WITHOUT Cullen is 5356911098.

These numbers are located on the bottom of the box.

cool. chalk and cullen. hopefully someone can kitbash the chalk one to resemble optimus primal. (and while they're at it, make cullen one resemble G1 more)

edit: does anyone know how large the pre-recorded voice components are? might they be popped into something different, like the 20th dvd prime base?

I was disappointed to hear the helmet didn't use Cullen's voice in the earlier review thread. Then I fiddled with one in the store and went "holy crap that DOES sound like Peter Cullen!"

After a little looking around, I saw the store had both versions. Bought the Cullen one, not surprisingly.

The non-movie-voice one still doesn't sound much like Chalk to me. Reminds me more of the voice in the DVD 20th Prime talking base.

 

I'm glad I came on TFW before going out and getting mine. If I hadn't known there were 2 versions, i might have biought the Chalk one by mistake. After testing a few at the store, I got a Cullen one.

why would you buy two helmets? Can't you return yours? Or you toss the box?

 

Just a heads up to top off all the stuff I found out last night and this morning when I first brought up the difference in the other thread, but the packaging is not a 100% indicator of the helmet version. I've now found versions with the first-run stle box (no "Actual Voice!" blurbs) with Cullen voice chips.

I believe it was said to be a running change. Makes sense. We got James Earl Jones as Vader, why not Cullen as Prime?
