Some stupid Sasha Baron Cohen film I give fewer than zero fucks about. London has Fallen Hardcore Henry X-men Days of Worlds ends past errrr, Apocalypse Something that looks like a sequel to Neighbors
just got home from watching Deadpool. i f***ing love this movie. there was one problem for me. i don't like sex scenes but i thought it was funny and felt bad for some viewers who are parents who took their age 6 to 12 year old kids to see Deadpool get it on with his girlfriend. 'what are they doing, mommy?' said the small girl in the back row to my right. i guess their common sense wasn't tingling.
I saw Deadpool in IMAX. The trailers I got were Hardcore Henry, Brothers Grimsby, Batman Vs. Supman, Gods of Egypt, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, London has Fallen, and there was one more but I can't remember. On the carrier topic, yeah I though it was a Helicarrier too, seeing it having giant turbines to the side. Almost feels like this film could have taken place after Captain America The Winter Soldier, seeing as all the Hydra helicarriers probably got scrapped and thrown to the junkyard after that fiasco.
No one should be taking 6-12 year olds to this movie if they have even a smidge of common sense or awareness. It's rated R for a reason, in the UK it's a 15 and I think it could have easily been an 18.
The BBFC rules were amended last year, and came into effect on the 1st of February. Fox had held off on submitting the movie, as they knew it would get an 18 under the old rules, so it was submitted knowing it would get a 15 after the 1st, and a 15 means more potential viewers. I've seen it twice now. When I went on Wednesday, all the standard seats were sold out, and only a few of the VIP ones were filled. Today the cinema was packed, very few empty seats.
So how uncomfortable would I be if I took my 16 year old daughter to see this with me? She loves the Marvel movies but I'm really on the fence about taking her.
This was the closest to a comic version Fox has ever done, and it looks like it will be their highest grossing one. Hopefully this leads to them making the rest of their movies around this line....or at least having these writers write more of their movies. Maybe next X-men movie they will actually wear costumes closer to the comic versions.
There is nudity, sex, violence and lots and lots of cussing. Think like 80's R movies like Robocop, Total Recall, and so on but with more cussing, sex and violence. They spend 5 minutes or more with Wade and Vanessa having sex and making jokes about it. There is a scene in a strip club and they don't censor anything. So knowing that it is up to you. But considering she will probably see it at her friends house as soon as it comes out on disk, you might want to watch it with her first, and explain what not to emulate till she's older. Kids can get these things, I saw R rated Horror movies that gave me nightmares when I was 10 along with Rambo at my friends house when I was 10. My mom would have never let me go to their house if she knew. We can't monitor our kids 24/7, it's often better to view it with them and explain, than to let them make their own conclusion. But this is just my opinion and she's your kid, so make the decision you think best.
Definitely agreed on all counts. I'm amazed how well FOX did with this. Easily their best work yet. That poster is awesome. Exclude Hot Topic Squad and The Purge...that was basically the trailers I saw, they had a lot....I was rather surprised.
Let's see, I got: Eddie The Eagle 10 Cloverfield Lane Hardcore Henry Triple 9 The Purge: Election Year Suicide Squad Pretty sure that was all of them. I was at a regular screening.
It's just really unacceptable. I was 2 seats away from a couple of 6 or 7 year olds and I couldn't believe their parents let them see the movie. It's R-rated for a reason folks.
Loved it. Best opening credits ever. A lot of great scenes, but Wade punching and kicking Colossus, and just wrecking himself in the process, had the whole theater roaring. The nudity wasn't as gratuitous as I expected-- yes, lots of boobies in the strip club, but the camera didn't linger or do any extreme close-ups or anything like that. So, like, as classy as you could get for a R-rated scene in a strip club. Trailers we got were: Gods of Eygpt London Has Fallen Independence Day The Purge: Whatever; don't care. Suicide Squad X-Men: Apocalypse Brothers Gimsby Stupid FPS movie: Henry
This movie really nailed the character. So many great lines, and digs at Fox, and holy shit it was unapologetic about all of it (not that I'd expect Deadpool to apologize for being Deadpool) if you only see ONE comic book movie this year, make it Deadpool. And bring a date. Chicka-ch'kaaaaa.
I was feeling the same way, the movie theater needs some better rules to stop this from happening either a warning or something saying this movie contains FULL FRONTAL NUDITY etc. I didn't let my ten year old son see this.
The scene from the first trailer (when Colossus backhands Deadpool into a car door) is it in the film? I've seen two different versions of this scene, the one from the first trailer that i just described... and the other from a tv spot where Colossus backhands Wade with alot more force & he goes flying onto the hood & front window of a car. I'm alittle confused??? Oh... and someone please tell me if Colossus puts up a pretty good fight against Angel Dust? Or is he nothing more than a punching bag for her & FOX to disrespect as usual?
That, and they got paid for their songs being in the movie, of course. I wish I could have bought a Deadpool soundtrack way back in 2003, instead of buying the Cradle 2 the Grave soundtrack to get X gon' give it to ya.
