Thanks for the news, dude. I figured they might do a running change if the helmets were coming out with Generic Dude's voice for them. I won't buy one until I find one with Cullen's voice.

    ***UPDATE***

Confirmed, there are TWO versions of the helmets. I've not been able to prove the Wave 1/Wave 2 split, but I can confirm that there are different ones. One of the friends I was out hunting with just called to play for me the Chalk version of the helmet he had found. No case boxes in sight unfortunately.

The product codes differ, however! The Gary Chalk helmets are 81123/82420 codes (found on the top right under the battery indications on the box). The Peter Cullen ones are 83422/82420. I had him go ahead and pick me up the variant. It seems the phrases may be in a different order as well.

Your right about the helmet. It's peter cullen's voice. Mine doesn't sound anything like the audio clip. I just got mine tonight and it is pretty cool. when they were stocking them on the shelf at walmart I saw the boxes that the helmets came in. Some had TRA Role Play Helmet on the box and some had Tra Role Play Helmet "wave 2".

    Hmmm....

If it is real that would explain why I saw Wave 1 and Wave 2 boxes on a pallet at Wal-Mart last week.

An easy way to tell which is which (besides pressing the button) is: on the bottom left hand corner, where it says "Try me!" the Cullen version also says "FEATURING THE REAL MOVIE VOICE". The other one just says "Try me!".

I'll have both versions in my hands by later this afternoon. I intend to record a comparison of them at that point, if someone doesn't do it first, to show the differences in pacing and intonation of the words, as well as the (I believe) different ordering of the phrases.

Joking or not, I actually have something like that in mind for one of the two variants I end up with. Not so much teal though. More like black, gunmetal, and Decepticon Purple :D

    Edited to add the following:

The ones Hasbro U.K. released all appear to have the earlier item# on them, but i was fairly sure that it did sound like Cullen.

When i can get samples from both versions on my phone, i'll go back and check for sure.

Yes, we're 100% serious. There are Cullen and Chalk variants. I have both in my hands now, as do others.

After reading all the reports, I had to bounce over to TRU to check it out, and I ended up grabbing a Cullen helmet. However, for me the box was EXACTLY the same as the one for the "Chalk version" I got at Target earlier in the day. So if the box doesn't say "REAL Movie Voice", don't dismiss it right away, test a couple of them first.
