Heh, that's actually a clever means of defeat. Only downside is you can't make them talk by moving their mouths.
I really wish that one figure had trans yellow. The last figure I know that had it was Waspix in the Hero Factory 3.0 wave. Would love to be able to moc with that color.
Tronus: He comes from 200 years in the future, from the year 2647. In his time, the Terrorcons are basically wiped out after centuries of fighting dating back to the year 2360. Tronus believes the path towards the current situation was ultimately due to the Terrorcon leader Deviot. Despite his immortality, he never delivered a crushing blow to the Legotron Federation forces. Recorded history showed over time he began to make questionable actions, paving the way for defeat after defeat. In a gamble to change the current outcome, Tronus used forbidden transwarp to go back into time to the year 2447. Once there, he quickly challenged Deviot for leadership. The battle was once by Tronus, who used historical knowledge in his favor. He took a spark extractor and removed Deviot's spark from his body. As the new leader, he quickly gives all his knowledge to the current generation of Terrorcon soldiers. He has them reverse engineer technology from his time. Not long after, he makes his presences known to the current enemies of the time period. Using the weapons setups from his time, the Terrorcons begin devastating the current state of the art Matrix class battleships. For Tronus, they have long been retired in his time. He knows the speed of the ships, the weapon ranges, and the shield strengths. Nothing from the current time period can stop him. Terminal: He's the main interrogator of the Terrorcon Army. Even for Terrorcon standards, he's sadistic. He takes oil baths using the oil that came from the bodies of those he tortured for information. He takes pleasure in hearing his victims scream as for him it's a sign he's doing good work. He even records them so he can replay as he starts to go offline for a recharge. As such, Terminal is wanted for crimes against prisoners of war by many planets of the Legotron Federation. Though capturing him is another tough matter as he's a skilled fighter. He's hardly left a battle without at least seven deaths. He's even been known to plant explosives on bodies of fallen soldiers and explode them when enemy soldiers come near.
So... I've been busy. I tried fusing the two designs of G2 Gali and it didn't work. Long story short: The new chest piece isn't quite as "feminine" as the separate torso and chest pieces. That and the armature I made using the 2015 limbs was really flimsy. I'll try again in the future with a different Toa but for now 2016 Gali is just spare pieces. She's not a bad set but not one of the best on her own IMO. Anyways I got a second can of gold spray paint after my first one mysteriously disappeared. Here's what I got: A gold Skull Mask. No real reason behind this aside from just giving Kulta another trophy. Silver Skull-Spider Mask for my recreation of Skull Warrior after I salvaged parts from him to improve Slicer, Basher, and Grinder. And Black Skull Spiders. Just figured I'd add some more color variety to the army. Plus the 2016 mooks are just Skull Warrior MOCs with Spider masks so no real issue with using one. Though noticing this makes me wonder if those with Kulta's mask are loyal to him while those with Spider masks obey LoSS which then raises questions for Slicer.
So, I've gotten all the 2016 sets, and I have to say that all the comments and criticism don't seem to highlight the most important thing about this wave- WAIST ARTICULATION!!! Honestly, I use this much more than the gearbox and think it is a far better gimmick. Also, has anyone had any luck making a good 2016 Kaita? My one attempt turned out a mess and I scrapped it. PS: have anyone seen this guy's work? https://www.youtube.com/user/DrScorpionX/videos I just randomly found him on Youtube, and his skull guys look pretty good.
So the guys over at zusammengebaut got very nice frontal shot of Ekimu and it brings to light something that the TTV board members spotted. If you look closely at the area behind his neck, you'll see he has a gearbox. I'll be giving that to Skull Basher.
The waist was brought up a lot in the prelim times, but now thet the sets are out it's swinging a lot to the "waist motion isn't worth the elongated torso." Except for Umarak and Onua where the longer torsos totally work in their favour, a lot of the Toa, the shorter ones especially, really suffer. Not helped by tha fact thet their limbs are either the same size or shorter than before, making them seem even more mismatched. If they absolutely needed taller torsos, longer limbs (and shells) would've made it so much easier to swallow. In a perfect world, the new Bionicle torso and the new Star Wars torso should've been combined into a shorter, waist-enabled piece(s) that could accept a gearbox and cover to give the Toa waists and gearboxs for dual action. Would've likely saved on parts, would've required no extra moulds, and the figures would be far, far better for it. As it stands I am desperate for Lego's Brick and Pieces to update to include the new SW torso and gearbox shell so I can alter all the Toa except Onua to have properly proportioned bodies.
so, i have a question for everyone. i am looking to make mask maker makuta. it seems like we may not get one of him and if we do, it will probably be based on his MOUP version. i know that means i will have to buy another mask maker vs skull grinder set, which kinda sucks. if anyone has an extra ekimu, i would appreciate it. anyway, my question is, what sets should i buy to help make makuta look more accurate, aka purple pieces and and how to make his hammer and such. some advise would be well appreciated
If you can wait until mid-late Feburary you can buy just the parts you want from Lego's Brick and Pieces. (or wait and see if MMVSG goes on sale) Unfortunately accurate colours don't yet exist for Makuta, but what we do know is his bones will all be black, his feet as well, which is easy enough. If you want to make him a suitable counterpart to Ekimu he'd need trans purple shells (granted the shade was off in the animation, it was more pinkish, trans purple is a bluer tint) which come with Uniter Onua, except there's no trans purple shells of the smallest variety to go on the sides of the chest, so a more accurate, unified colourscheme means going solid purple for the shells. The hammer's also kinda sucky. It's clearly based on real CCBS parts, but the stud shooter hammer head doesn't exist in purple of any kind. The best colour would be black, with one of these and one of these on the end. You'd have to figure out how to attach them, though. However after that you just swap the eyes for trans orange and pop on the Mask of Control and you have a totally okay Makuta. Hope this all helps.
Hey that looks pretty good! Give it some black feet (and hands I think?) and it'll be perfect. You did a great job.
Oh, so it does. I was going off a pic that had his feet in shadow making them look black. Then yeah, I guess it's perfect.
oh god, now that we are actually in february, the anticipation for when netflix will actually make the series available to watch is killing me. on another note, while i love that the franchise has been rebooted, and i like the new take on it, it essentially the exact same thing. a part of me wishes that they really changed it more. here is what i imagine; the island city of metru nui was inhabited by the matoran, and ruled by mata nui and makuta, but then they mastered the powers of light and shadow anjd became mortal enemies. the turaga, who were guardian warriors at the time, put all the matoran to sleep while mata nui and makuta battled. finally, their final battle rendered them both comatose, though their spirits were free to roam. this also decimates the city and over time nature overtakes its ruins. 900 hundred years later, the aged turaga awaken the matoran and lead them, while makuta influences evil warriors and creatures against them, mata nui uses much of his energy, plus energy from the 6 brightest stars in the sky, to give birth to 6 warriors born from the life forces of the 6 elements; energy, fire, water, earth, air, sound and metal. the 6 heroes would have to discover their own identities, learn to work together, protect the matoran, discover the secrets of "the islands" past, find a way to revive mata nui, and fend of the brotehrhood of makuta, and organization of makutas followers and allies ho wish to revive him and make him sole ruler of the world. as you see, i changed the usual roster of elements. energy, sound and metal are now a part of them, with then toa of energy now being the leader, rather than fire. i also intend to change most the usual cast to other characters from the bionicle franchise energy-nikila fire-malum water-Hahli earth-pohatu air-lewa sound-krakua metal-rakua
