What's the oldest toy you've seen on a store shelf or peg?

Tonight there were some Iron Man 2 figures in the clearance aisle of a local WM. I wonder where they were lost as they were not there peviously. I also found a figure from the first Iron Man movie at TJ Maxx in 2014.

You'd be amazed how many cases of toys sit in the backrooms at a lot of Walmarts. There was a DOTM Leader Class Ironhide for quite some time at my local store, I think it was late '13 or early '14 before it sold. (I could be wrong on that, but I know he was there for a LONG, LONG time.)

Sometimes Hasbro sends older items to stores as well. Remember a few years back how everyone was finding HFTD, RTS and PCC figures around Christmas time for a ridiculous clearance price?

I want to say it was 2013...? I bought a couple.

Oh, one other example, which is happening right now... In Power Rangers Megaforce (Super Megaforce?) there's a role play cannon that looks like the Red Ranger's pirate ship, it shot these spinning discs or nerf like darts, or something along those lines. Gone. New lines have come in. All of a sudden, these past 2 weeks, people all over the nation are finding fresh cases of these things at their local TRUs, I saw them myself. Just randomly out of the blue, restocked and ready to go like it was a brand new, never before seen item. =\

I went into a convenience store in a small town and saw a NECA Spawn figure from 2001 as a 'black gumball prize'. Clearly the black gumball is a lie.

I found a Prime Voyager Skyquake at TRU a couple of months ago. No joke, it rang up for .50 cents. Who could say no?

There was a 'B&M Bargains' in Blackpool (it's a discount chain in the UK) that I visited a few times in 1995 -1996 and I still to this day remember them having all the 1987 Headmasters on the shelves (minus Scorponok & Fort Max, anyway!) They also had the UK Action Master exclusives like Thundercracker, Rumbler & Slicer in the 'suits', I was amazed they were still there as I hadn't seen them 'in the wild' for years... I already owned them and remember being devastated they didn't have any of the Targetmasters there instread.

I bought my Power Rangers trading cards at the same time. I still remember how devastated I was reading one of the cards saying Jason, Zack & Trini were leaving and I was upset the whole trip, hoping it wasn't real haha. Those episodes wouldn't air in the UK for about 9 months afterwards, and I so hoped it wasn't true!

I'm pretty sure there's STILL a ROTF Wheelie at my local Rite-Aid.

Transformers Energon Demolisher at Sears in 08'-09'.

A horde of Classics Prowls and Classics Sunstreakers back at Sears in 12'-13' (or whenever they were liquidating and completely getting rid their toy aisles.

I found a Animated Voyager Prime at a Target two years ago, but that was only because some jackhole had taped a AoE Leader Prime UPC over the original in a switcheroo.

The oldest legitimate TFs I saw was way back in either the Armada and Energon years when some stock guy at my local TRU found an old case of the Fox versions of the BW TM deluxes. I still regret not snagging a Rhinox.

Sometime in the early 2000s at a Kaybee I saw a random Krang with android body on the clearance pegs, so I gave him a home.

A friend of mine told me once that he found an original G1 Megatron at a drug store back in the 90s after G1 was done. He got it for original retail price. I wonder if he still has it? Stories like that give me dreams of one day still finding G1 stuff out there. A pipe dream, but it would be pretty amazing.

Not Transformers, but back in 2012, I found a He-Man Shuttle Pod at a Marshall's. New and sealed and everything.

So... that was a 23 year old toy. Do I win?

Most UK Toys R Us' that I've been in still have the FOC Data Discs and Robot Heroes Cheetor vs. Blackarachnia... and will have them until the end of time.

In 2009 I found a full set of Rescue Force in a local toy shop, they must have found them in the back and put them on the pegs. I nearly lost my mind lol.

3 years ago, I was at a local video game store and found a MISB Korean Galaxy Force Autovolt for $5. It was the only TF the store had.

I bought it. It's still probably the best deal on a TF I've ever had.

Back when Kay-Bee Toys still existed, it wasn't unusual for them to have all kinds of toys that were 5-6-7 or even 8 years old out. Not much good, mind you, but I did score a BW Transmetal Scavenger in '01 or early '02, which would have made it 3-4 years old at that time.

More recently, someone returned a set of PowerCore Combiners to Wal-Mart almost immediately after Xmas last month. No, not one of the actual good sets. They stocked it as a Voyager, so it scanned at $24.98 or whatever. Mind you, this same Wal-Mart has had this guy on the clearance aisle but still full price for around 4 years.
