These replicate the CW pack-in trading cards perfectly. Botcon's going all in w/ the Combiner Wars theme this year it looks like. Would imagine the backs of the cards will be the Botcon Logo rather than the generic card stock back.

 

The art looks great on those.

Unless they print the bios on the back. Botcon usually includes bio cards.

 

Ah. Good call. These could be replacing the standard format while referencing the current retail product.

Wonder if they'd do this for all of the figures this year or just the CW-based ones.

So, the custom class figure appears to have a retail headsculpt that hasn't been seen yet.

The souvenir figure (who I'm assuming pairs w/ Predacus) will be a brand new headsculpt entirely.

Terrorsaur as the freebie seems more and more likely. Especially if he's getting a brand new head.

 

They also mentioned that the custom class figure will have a head unused at retail (meaning one of the pretooled alternate heads) and that the freebie figure will have an all new head not used elsewhere in the convention exclusives (meaning a new head by Fun Pub).

What size are the freebie's normally? Because if it also has a new headsculpt I can't help but think it's going to be the Legends Seeker as Terrorsaur. It seems random but that red jet on the box seems like it'd be the perfect hint and it would work *perfectly* to allow collectors to recreate the scene.

 

This is gonna be a long 78 days... I don't think I have been this excited since my first Botcon in 07

 

They're typically deluxes.

 

Yeah the freebie hasn't not been a Deluxe since 2007 with the one exception being 2015 but Zaptrap came with an extra accessory.

Some exciting updates regarding BotCon 2016 Registration!

First, a reminder about some package details. If you register as a Primus package holder, you will receive not just the 5 figure boxed set, but also a FREE additional Deluxe figure. We are excited to announce that this figure utilizes the Combiner Wars tooling and also features a NEW head sculpt that does not appear on any other souvenirs.

Also, the CLASS KIT (and Assembled Class Kit) features an alternative head sculpt that is not available at retail. You can add an Assembled Class Kit when you register.

Finally, per the BotCon brochure, this year's Golden Ticket features a surprise bonus! That item is in fact an alternate version of one of the Legends Class souvenir items.

Take one last look at the Convention Brochure so you know exactly what you are planning to purchase and we will see you very soon in Louisville, Ky for BotCon 2016,10th April 7-April 10!

- Deluxe Tarantulas (CW Rook w/ new head)

Primus Bonus:
- Unknown CW Deluxe figure w/ new head.

Custom Class:
- Unknown CW Deluxe figure w/ "alternative" head.

Souvenirs:

Golden Ticket:
- Alternate version of Legends souvenir figure (so same character, different paint?)

I think a bonus figure is *new* to the Golden Ticket this year. So customers at that level would in essence be getting an additional perk for something they likely already considered.

If they're doing a Beast Wars theme with *all* of the figures. I wonder if they'd do a "standard" and "Transmetal" version of a character.

 

I'm annoyed how they start a interesting concept and then do nothing with it.

I'll admit that artwork is good.

 

Maybe the CW Bombshell figure as Salvo (Diaclone colors) much like what they did with Shrapnel as Zaptrap last year? If the GT figure is an alternate color scheme of the same toy maybe that'll be a Barrage colored version to go with the Combiner Wars Chop Shop?

 

Aw man. I would be pissed if it's something like Barrage. I could live with not getting a Transmetal version of the regular exclusive.

 

This figure is an easy pass for me.

 

As a whole, it's a pass.
I do want the Ravage though.
