Eh, they're still more solid and thought-out than posts such as this.

I'll get both Blaster and Soundwave. We'll get other versions but these are both decent updates of the original toys. There's definitely a place for them in my collection.

Well, the question I'm pondering is, does this really do enough different to justify not just sticking your MP SW in your CHUG collection/saving up for an MP SW? Especially considering how terrible the molds that will eventually be used for Ravage and Laserbeak look.

I think you have to toss in that CHUG has a creative freedom that Master Piece does not. Master Piece has to be spot on to G1 while CHUG can go what if the character had a different alt mode, what if so and so was changed in the robot mode, or what if we added a gimmick the character didn't have in G1.

Some people like that not exactly G1 while other people are looking for exactly spot on.

Feels like I've been collecting CHUG too long to start over with Master Piece. So it might make me less of a collector but I'm okay with Titans Return Soundwave and I'm looking forward to gimmick they added.

    That's not what I meant.

The post I quoted said this was a poor man's MP. I said yes technically, because it's cheaper and at least looks like Soundwave. And then I said, it really can't be compared to the MP because it's a CHUG. It's not meant to be compared to the MP.

And that's what everyone already replied to that quote. And now you join in.

And my point was people missed my point. And now you join in, to add two cents that wasn't even needed.

And how exactly was I joining in there? It was my quote they quoted. And I replied first to the poor man's comment. Don't think I was joining anything.

You have some issues or something? And they didn't reply to the OP I quoted, they replied to my original reply to him. Doesn't matter what was meant, I didn't attack the guy over what he said, I simply commented on it, partially agreeing with him.

My second post in reply to the others who replied to me, and, where you happened to "join in" I was clarifying. So, thanks, but no thanks.

Surprised at how few people care about the absolutely terrible cassette player mode. This mold fits blaster much better as he is a boom box. Bot mode looks fine but alt mode is horrible. They even left the handle. This mold was meant to be blaster.

It looks like they went with a g1 toy robot mode rather than a toon form with that big clear tape door and look of the head. All in all I'd say he looks great, just needs same paint on the sides of the tape deck door

You know how that Master Pieces fan vs CHUG fan thing can go sometimes so lots of clarifying on stuff when there is even a hint of comparing :)

People look at it from different collector perspectives, which is a valid angle - like any opinion is.

However, just because a to be released product is roughly the same size for the same character in another productline, doesn't always justify (implied) one on one comparisons.

Sure, some collectors might consider a TR or CHUG character as an improvised/makeshift substitute character amongst their MP collection, but for most people the quality of this product will be best determined by its own productline context ; ergo, comparing it as a TR leader class to other TR leader class and other CHUG/Generations leader class toys.

I have MP-13 and Soundblaster but I still want this. One of the reasons I haven't abandoned CHUGs entirely in favor of MP is seeing what new/different/cool stuff they bring to the table. I don't expect or want dead on Sunbow or G1 accuracy.
    Headmaster and base mode? Sold.

I'm honestly tempted myself just because it's a baddass looking Soundwave toy that is large and turns into a tape player looking thing again. It's been a while. Looks to have good articulation, too. I'll probably go for the Blaster instead, though. (With hopes of either a more toon accurate head from Takara, or a 3P solution.)

Either way though, ONE of these will probably be mine. They just look FUN.

I wouldn't worry much about the clear plastic, most of it is made from flexible plastic. There's one's I've cut up for customs before that I could cut the clear with a knife just like the regular plastic. Not sure what formula they use, but PVC can be made clear.

They make clear SCH 40 Plumbing pipe.
