Beast Machines didn't ruin my childhood, it just ruined the characters from my childhood.

Whenever that happens, I just follow Joel's advice at the end of "Girl In Lover's Lane". It's just fiction, you don't have to take the ending they give you. In your imagination, just make everything end up like Crow and Servo wanted; like Dino Riders!

Even I disliked the Bay movies intensely as some do? they wouldn't have "ruined my childhood" as some claim. Pure hyperbole. Ditto for the TMNT or anything else that's been developed. a bad movie in 2016(or whenever) will not wreck my childhood memories of a property.

The live action moves have loads of things that bug me(most notably the lack of explanation for missing characters) but I can still enjoy them and still really like the 1st movie.

The original animated movie is what introduced me to the world of Transformers when I was five years old. That being the case, most of the Transformers toys that I had weren't the season one and two (pre-movie) toys, they were the season three and four (post movie) toys. To this day, the movie is still without question my favorite animated movie ever created. So for me, the animated movie didn't ruined my childhood, it helped make my childhood memorable.

As a original G1 fan, seeing the movie in the cinema when I was 6 was epic. Awesome. G1 Kup is one of my favourite TF's ever and still holds pride of place on The Shelves.

Beast Wars was an epic no-go for me, didn't like it when I saw it first and still didn't like it when I attempted to re-watch it a couple of years ago.

Bay films - loved the first one, hated the second because of the unanswered questions and vanishing characters (plus Bay killing Arcee because of some weird thing has has against female robots - Almost as bad as what Sam Raimi did to Venom in SM3). DOTM I enjoyed and AOE I enjoyed - Mark Wahlberg was a much better human component than Shia in 2/3.

So, in short - Bay did not ruin my childhood. How could he? He wasn't there. He needs to sort his editing out and stop with the weird character quirks but other than that I'd say he hasn't completely screwed up.

Man those people must have had shitty childhoods if they only had Transformers and TMNT and let them be ruined by some live action movies! Adding to Transformers and TMNT there was Voltron, Captain Future, Dino-Riders, Dinosaucers, Thundercats, He-Man, The Real Ghostbusters, Killer Tomatoes and so on and so forth that made my childhood special....!!!

Thing with the 86 movie is that I really doubt it would be anywhere near as memorable if Optimus had survived. If not for those pretty bold decisions there really wouldn't be much to say about it other than maybe how cool Unicron was.

:lol  Man, if they were traumatized by the movie, I can only imagine their reaction to Dark Awakening.

The decisions weren't really bold, though. They didn't think they were killing characters, they just thought they were removing toys to make space for new ones.

I don't see how I'm giving my memories of playing with my Transformers with my siblings to Bay or whoever when they make an adaptation of shit I grew up with.

Hell Jurassic World made me feel like a kid again. Even if I had thought it sucked, it wouldn't take away from my childhood of watching Jurassic Park.
