All the rage from the anti-Bay crowd, usually comes from the same bunch who are willing to pay several times what a Habsro version of a figure costs, because Takara used slightly more paint. So, I can't say that their judgement is all that trustworthy.

Probably will not even bother to see TF5 with Bay at the helm. However, I'm kinda looking forward to the onslaught of new movie toys so I have less TF toys to tempt me.

It's only in off-movie years that my wallet blows up. :bay

Even the people who had defend Bayformers movies in the past are stuck with this notice. The franchise needs a new fresh director and writers. The "love story with giant robots" thing is becoming boring.

There will always be movies as long as there are people paying to see it and defend it. I'll see every movie once just so I know what happens and what people are talking about.

Whether you love the movies or hate them, attached are the only numbers that matter to Hasbro and Paramount. I got the information from here.

They show that the films are doing progressively worse in the U.S., but are still making over a billion dollars, worldwide. If I'm the numbers guy, I'm telling the bosses to do everything they can to keep Bay around.

    Have fun, all!

P.S. Sorry my labeling sucks. I'm a strategist, not a chart-maker :D  "1" is Transformers, "2" is Revenge of the Fallen, and so on...

I really don't see your correlation?? Soooo oh wait so ya, attention to detail and better quality don't appeal to you ..... that makes sense why you are defending Bay then.

Quality is not synonymous with Bay Movies. lol

Hey now, I'm a Bayformers fan AND a Takara junkie. It's possible to be both you know. I can simultaneously appreciate quality and mindless entertainment. Doesn't hurt me none. I'm gonna do what I like and no one can tell me otherwise.

So come on, Mr. Bay, gimme dem 'splosions! And Takara, make some damn nice movie figures!

And I cant trust comments like this since the are clearly misinformed. TAV figures in japan cost the same price as RID figures in the states and have A LOT more paint:

Man that pic is gorgeous and it makes me wish we'd gotten either a real leader class DOTM Megatron, or a 3rd party company would make one! :(

Yeah his comment seems... outdated. Yeah some figures cost more, mostly Generations, but (for the US at least) the conversion means these figures are no longer "twice the price" sometimes.

Indeed. And the glut of TJMax clearance movie toys to pick up the few I might want anyway. Seriously, I think I only paid full price for three movie toys during AoE.

Little late to the party on all the arguing and stuff. But if you were to ask me five months ago, I'd say Bay can go to hell. But after seeing the TMNT 2 trailer like nearly 2 months ago now(?), I feel a little better. I saw TMNT twice, granted my friend made us sneak in to join him after Battle of Gods the 2nd time, but you get my point. Anyways, I didn't fully enjoy the movie, but I didn't hate it. ROTF I feel was the lowest point for Bay in recent years. But the TMNT 2 trailer makes me believe a little that TMNT 2 might be way better than TMNT. Showing that Bay might be starting to give actual thought to movies, maybe even showing growth as a director. Not getting my hopes up, just saying. But since ROTF, I feel the movies have gotten slightly better. AOE had what I call, Age of Ultron syndrome. Just setting up for a different movie with more 'cool' stuff. My only major problem with it tbh.
I still dislike Bay with a passion. But my hatred towards him has been slowly weening over the years since ROTF.

Man... I was really wishing he didn't come back. But I'm in it, as long as there's movie toys!

Saw TF Cars share this on FB. Been absolutely buzzing to visit the movie forum all day!

Dump truck TF with a cloak and a crashed underwater ship. Wonder if that ship is on Earth?

Indifferent to this ever since it was known the new movies were not going to be reboots but in coninuity.

Even as somebody who liked the first one, I wish they'd reboot the movie series with a bit more tasteful approach, but continuining down the same road it never really mattered if it was Michael Bay or any other person in the director's chair.

AoE showed promise in ways, but dropped the ball even harder in other areas. I'm sure TF5 will be watchable but forgettable. :)

I'm sorry, but this makes no sense whatsoever.

The Transformers fandom is a highly versatile bunch of people with so many varieties in tastes and ways they enjoy the hobby. You can't say there's this group of anti-Bay people who also happens to be the same group of people who prefer Takara of Hasbro products. There are many people who don't like the movies who don't buy import, and there sure as hell are Bay fans who DO buy import.

Over-generalizing and lumping people into imaginary groups is what keeps creating fights in this fandom. It's kind of childish, so please don't do that...
Plus your comment reads a bit snarky towards people who happen to buy Takara products. Where does that come from? Jealousy? False sense of rebellion because you might've disagreed with somebody once who did? I'm mostly happy with Hasbro's offerings, but let's not pretend Takara doesn't occassionally release versions of toys (or even entire lines, like FOC) that are objectively much nicer.

    Time to chime in.

I'm pretty meh to Bay directing 5, but I'll continue to do the same like I did the other 4; go watch it in the theatre once, and if the parts I like outweigh the parts I don't, then I buy the bluray.

Just for the record, I have all 4 on bluray thus far, cause I love me mindless transforming robot 'splosions popcorn flicks.:bay :popcorn

Well I cant say I'm surprised and it also means he can finish what he started.

cant say I'm really interested however. I've not seen number 4 and 5 is really not on my radar at all.
