Honestly I could care less about the ethics of either. You come out and tell me I'm murduring kittens by buying FunPub or 3p figures and then maybe I'll start batting an eye.
But Afterburner is the god of the fandom!
To disagree with him is blasphemy!
To collect what he disaproves of is sin!

Half the set is sill available for pre-order on BBTS, but yeah as others have said to get the rest it might get pricey.

I think it looks fgood honestly. I like all the weapon options too. But to each their own.

I have mixed feelings about 3Ps. I'm tempted by them every now and then and I don't really hold anything against the people who buy 'em, but I find the 3P-only elitists to be up there with GEEWUNNERS (or anyone else who needlessly complains about every damn thing) as the most annoying people in the fandom. The term "Hasblow" is probably the most irritating fandom term to me. That said, given what people are saying about FunPub (the handicap part is awful) I'm thinking of just waiting for Ramjet to come out and get him offa eBay instead of re-joining.

That, and Hasbro and Takara have a tendency to outdo them... Well, they do sometimes. Third parties make a Springer? Hasbro makes a friggin' LSOTW Nick Roche Springer. 3Ps make Devastator? Takara releases a gigantic Devastator with the articulation Hasbro's Devvy lacked. 3Ps make a Brainstorm? Hasbro makes an MTMTE accurate Brainstorm complete with Headmaster gimmick. 3Ps make Ultra Magnus? Hasbro makes Ultra Magnus with Minimus frickin' Ambus. 3Ps make more Headmasters? Hasbro dedicates an entire line to HMs which looks a HELL of a lot more fun than CW.

Then again, I'm biased towards IDW-based stuff instead of faux-Masterpieces, so that kinda tilts it towards Hasbro for me. Same reason I think TT's official MP Magnus or UW Magnus (Really? Alpha Trion instead of Ambus?) isn't as cool as CW Magnus.

i agree that yeah, hastak has outdone 3p's on a lot of stuff, but look how long it took. 9 years of classics for hastak to finally give us a devastator. it took the first third party only till 2009. springer? same deal. predaking? abominus? so far no chance, especially now that their freakin' combiner line is over. not to mention there's two separate 3rd parties that are in the middle of their own headmaster lines... sure, 3p's are more geared towards MP collectors but there's plenty of classics stuff they've done that's happened so much faster than hastak's.

what gets my goat is people throwing out ip infringment, etc like they're somehow morally better because they don't buy 3p's. not to say some 3p folk don't act like they're better but a lot of it is from anti-3p people. if people legitimately think less of a person for buying the toys they like they're not the kind of people worth associating with anyway.

And it's worth noting too that AT THE TIME, this Devastator was actually in pretty high demand as it was the closest thing on the foreseeable horizon to a new Devastator toy.

Hell, Headmasters were a "never going to happen" consideration even because of concerns over "what if people lose the heads"

Is Impactor definitely the last figure that will come with this year's secret toy? I unfortunately can't justify getting the entire set, as much as I want to (I'd be looking at well over $500 AUD), but if I get just one it'd probably be Impactor and I'd feel better spending so much on a Deluxe if he came with two.

Only because the people at Hasbro who legitimately thought this way left the company.

    I'm glad they're gone.

But now we're stuck with the new team who thinks it should be ONLY Headmasters because their customers would get confused with Targetmasters and Powermasters in the mix.

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they showed up eventually, seeing as the Hasbro rep who was demonstrating Blaster and Galvatron's gimmick specified that Titanmaster is the new all-encompassing term that includes "Headmasters, Targetmasters and Godmasters", unless what he mean't was that certain characters like the Powermaster Optimus or Targetmaster Blurr are now Headmasters.

Agree. We're slowly getting Hasbro purified. It's a huge outrage that powermasters and targetmasters are getting repurposed.

Uh, in regards to Targetmasters, we only just got Scoop as a Double Tragetmaster a little while ago and this very thread is about a Combiner team with two Targetmasters. Let's calm the outrage for now.

Yeah I agree since those characters did have targetmasters so I see no big deal about they having targetmaster repaints plus its tfcc they don't usually make entirely new molds for characters plus the oilmaster pretender shell wasn't an entirely new transforming transformer

We already had a targetmaster with Cyclonus and I'm pretty sure that's before Hasbro was """"""""""purified"""""""""

I won't hate on one team or praise one over another, each has contributed some toy in the Classics or Armada trilogy line that had peaked my interest enough to continuously collect TF's for the last several decades.

Has anyone heard of a date / timeframe of when these will start showing up? Shouldn't these be dropping soon?

Any one think Perfect Effect will make specific hands and feet for this? Or will we have to use What's already out there?

From what I understand, the previous TFSS sets haven't released before Botcon in previous years because the TFSS figures and Botcon figures are all made at the same time.

Given that Botcon is happening a few months earlier than usual this year, I would hope we'll see these guys starting to arrive May/June. But that is just my guesstimate.

I wouldn't be surprized if PE release a set for Mayhem Maximus considering they've done one for every other combiner barring Defensor. But even if they don't I think any of the purple, black or silver kits that are already out there will suit.

I agree. Heads are a bigger priority for me than weapons or new limbs. I love the design of Steamshield's Shapeway heads for the set, but my painting skills are a bit sub-par.
