It's finally here! Are their any predictions, wishes, or speculations that you'd like to share to commemorate this highly anticipated occasion?

I hope for a 30th anniversary commemorative edition Blu-Ray with all versions of the film, all deleted scenes as a bonus feature, and the Japanese audio track with subs imo would the ultimate icing on the cake!

Right, a full HD 4:3 upgrade would be nice.

It was originally animated at 4:3 ratio with the intention of having the top and bottom cut off for 16:9 cinema presentation. As as result the full 4:3 version has a lot of unfinished/error animation at the top and bottom.

The 16:9 cinema version was then cropped at the sides to create the 4:3 home video version, which means a lot of home video versions only show a fraction of the total animation!

Anyway I'd like the full 4:3 version remastered, animation warts and all. The 16:9 BD version I have is very nice but still... a disc where I can flip through Full 4:3, Cinema 16:9 and Cropped 4:3 on the fly would be nice.

It also needs a proper HD audio makeover, so far the best sound we have available (even on the BD) is Dolby Digital 5.1... come on! 7.1 HD audio please!

I want the perfect bluray set. Containing all four seasons of the g1 toon, all commercials, the 1986 movie with all the bonus content one would expect. And let it come in Unicron's head.

Does Sony still have the rights to the movie? Or does Shout have it now?

Nnnno. The 4:3 home video picture is the full frame picture. It is that picture that was cropped to create the 16:9 cinema/dvd frame. There's a TINY bit of extra footage around the edges of the 4:3 picture that was deliberately exposed for the UK "Reconstructed" DVD, which is where the unfinished animation you mention can be seen, but its insignificant. The film wasn't cropped twice - by that reckoning, the widescreen version released on DVD and bluray would have been cropped from 4:3 to 16:9 to 4:3 to 16:9!

I'd certainly be in favor of a HD fullscreen remaster, though!

I would like to own it own Blu-ray. I would love the idea of them releasing a Special 30th Anniversary of the Transformers movie. He maybe it could include some special features along with the movie.

This, but I'd prefer a statuette of Unicron standing on a base made of a hemisphere of Cybertron, the discs being inside the base section. And it should have remastered 7.1 audio, both original Shit Dammit and Censored English tracks and the Japanese track, and both 4:3 and 16:9 ratios HD remastered.

A joint introduction by Peter Cullen and Frank Welker would be awesome as would a cast and crew photo gallery.

    Deleted scenes added it.

Like to see it again playing in theaters since I never saw it which I thought I did.

I'm trying to remember if I've argued with you about this subject before... I remember arguing with somebody years back (IIRC I remember using pictures from the TFTM Ladybird book that appeared to have more animation visible at the top and bottom...) and I remember being wrong then... have I still got it wrong?

Urrrgh. Getting old. Losing my marbles...

My vote is for a bluray version of the movie with a new commentary.

I would love to see the movie re-edited to include the deleted scenes and correction of the animation errors (like incorrect colours, two Sunstreakers etc) and animated cameos of other season 1 and 2 characters (not voice roles) that were left out of the original movie, so just as the writers originally intended.

However I do know this will never happen...

So what people want is a 1997 esque Star Wars: Special Edition where one of the Sunstreakers is replaced by... I dunno. A really bad CG Jabba the Hutt?

Then Nelson Shin can go back to it every few years giving us more and nore tweaks and eventually Disney buys everything.

Let's get those deleted scenes /animated and added to the movie.

Make Sunstreaker 2 red or white life the Diaclones.

Hound appeared in 2 places at once as well

I wonder if an online petition would help. I remember it helped when we had such a petition given to WB, to release the Superman II Donner cut back in 2006.
