This is a quick idea/speculation i came up with regarding the rumored combiners to be released during titan wars. Specifically Computron as right now he is the most likely candidate for being one of those said combiners.

anyway, one thing that lead me to think of this is that after the whole Stunticon, Arielbot thing, Hasbro said that they would start releasing the waves in such a way that they would consist of only one teams members to make sure that all the members of said team where out at roughly the same time.

so far they have indeed lived up to that promise, with the one glaring exception being Scattorshot. well that got me thinking.

If Computron is indeed one of the combiners coming out in titans return, would they re release Scattershot? most likely not, but the Technobots wouldn't be much of a combiner team without a torso bot.

So what if they just gave the Technobots a different Scattorshot?
let me introduce to you Computron, featuring Cybertron Scattershot, remolded from Onslaught.

Hasbro would be able to "technically" release all the Technobots in one wave. the kids who the toys are targeted at would not notice the difference in character lineup but the colors on the shelves would be more striking to have a multi colored team with a blue torso rather than a full wave of figures who all kinda look the same with similar color schemes, and obviously the G1 scattershot would have already been released giving G1 fans the option of a proper Computron.

yes, but at this point it would be an entirely different line which makes a re-release much less likely rather than a wave revision within the same line.

 

Personally I'd expect the limbs to come out before Titans Return. Maybe they'd put out more Scattorshots but I wouldn't expect them to separate the two by line unless they added some useless new torso bot.

 

Not necessarily....technically theyre still part of the same line.....Prime Wars (just different sublines therein). That said, I suspect we'll see the Technobots before TR begins. It would explain why Waves 5 & 6 are coming out 2-3 months ahead of their original schedule

 

I still don't think we're going to get the technobots.

 

Well, judging that the source of the rumors came from the same source that predicted a bunch of stuff about Titans Return (Blaster, Sentinel Prime, Titanmasters, etc.), we could get Technobots released later.

 

If we get Computron, I'd expect it to be some sort of online exclusive as we're seeing with the G2 combiners and Victorian. That way, the figure bypasses the issue of "similar color set" that is often cited as a reason Hasbro changes things.

Besides, Titans Return start up this summer, we are NOT going to get another full wave of product ON TOP of the two waves we're already seeing release this spring.
The logistics don't work in a retail scenario.

 

The only wave left for the spring is the second set of Autobots, so I think people are thinking it's going to be a long time between Jan/Feb and Titans Return in late summer, which leaves room for something other than Victorion and the G2 box sets that most retailers aren't going to carry in store.
