    Out on Comixology Australia.

First of all, Sakamoto does it again. Here's hoping this isn't the last we see of him.

Secondly; Page 19 top panel, that is all.

And finally: another top notch issue by Roberts! It'll be interesting to see how everything ties into the Dying of the Light.

Just read the new issue. The story on it’s own was fantastic, though not as good as 47, which is where my problem comes up. The amazing and beautiful cliffhanger ending to 47 is resolved off screen and with apparently no consequences, other than Tailgate being unconscious for an issue or two. I don’t understand how Cyclonus survived or why no one finished off the presumed traitor while he was dying. I know this isn’t MtMtE’s first fakeout death, but I only started reading at the start of Season 2, so this is my first encounter with that infuriating plot device. Just really got in the way of enjoying an otherwise fantastic issue

The sudden story jump between #47 and #48 is especially jarring. Curious where this leads, I suppose this is really setting up Skids as the DJD mole.

Really enjoyed this issue but that might have something to do with Rung and Skids being my favourite mtmte characters. Me? Biased? Pfft no!

    Top, top issue.

You could tell who was going to show up at the end early on.

If you don't recognise Skids' cell mate then
it's Quark, Brainstorm's lost love. The one he tried to change the past to bring back

Holy crap, what no-talent hack filled in for James Roberts? That seriously made the Personaltiy Ticks issue look amazing by comparison. The handwaving of the entire end of last issue, the hackneyed villains, the two big memory reveal that I seriously figured out on page 3... It was like reading a bad fanfic.

That was awful. By far the most disappointed I've ever been in MTMTE. All the good stuff was on done by the end of the 3-Page preview.

I'm a little disappointed that last issue's cliffhanger was resolved completely offscreen and just brushed aside no problem. Though I really hope this isn't the last we've seen of Getaway and Atomizer.

I enjoyed the issue but... Geez...
"Hey so off-screen it turns out that Cyclonus is TOTALLY fine and Tailgate is also alive and we found out Getaway and Atomizer were behind it so we arrested them off-screen too! OK! Let's move on!"
... Was a really lame conclusion to last issue's cliffhanger. It almost feels like that story needed another issue to properly resolve.

Sunder's looking a heck of a lot less "bird" nowadays, isn't he?

I agree with everyone on 47's resolution being too abrupt. I'm hoping that it's not the end of it. I'm so happy that
    Cyclonus isn't dead though
that I'm willing to forgive just about anything.

Sakamoto's art looks good in standalone panels, but the storytelling isn't working for me again. It changes the vibe of the issue considerably. It's like I'm being told something seriously grim while reading a gag manga. I don't know. Glad others are happier with it.

This wasn't as good as I was hoping for sadly.

After the emotional conclusion of the last chapter, I was expecting more focus on the whole situation but it turns out that Cyclonus wasn't even badly injured, Tailgate's condition is currently being treated and Getaway was quickly captured (Seriously, after what this asshole pulled off I was hoping for a more satisfying fate).

Another problem is Skids. For a while he seemed to be at peace with himself about his memories but now he seems depressed once again. This is most likely because Roberts wanted to create more developments for him and the plot but still feels kinda out of place.

Far from being bad but it should have been better.

    Really enjoyed this issue.

Sunder is f*cking terrifying and I love him, also nice to see Froid again.

This was my thought too. I ended up looking up what happened in the Holiday Special to make sure it didn't somehow resolve this.

I think that a lot of cool stuff was happening but resolving the cliffhanger of #47 offscreen, having Froid's ship arrive offscreen, starting with Skids instead of any of those other events made this issue weaker than I expected. Not the best issue so far to say the least.

I'm wondering if we didn't need a prose story set between 47 and 48 now I'm thinking of it. This isn't going to read well in trade and it's a seriously strange issue given how the book has been paced so far. I'm wondering if we're seeing the pressure of issue 50 forcing the story like we saw with Dark Cybertron forcing a lot of things forced into the prose story.

So... this Froid guy, just sat out the war for 4 million years? just feeding on whomever they came across? That seems ridiculous.
Have you noticed that every old transformer is not a part of the main cast follows the same tired plot device: Y starts out as a close friend of cast member X, something splits the two characters apart, Y then spends the entirety of the war not in the war but becoming crazy and evil because reasons. Then conveniently show up now that the LL is cruising the galaxy. X is cautious at first then discovers Y is crazy, just in time for Y to spring his evil plan.
Ambulon, Tyrest, we have been here before. What if we didn't need a contrived plot twist to reveal skid's memories? That could be the b story in this issue. The A story could have been the capture of Atomizer and Getaway. Leave Tailgate and Cyclonus in the medbay. Have Megatron lead the charge, but the other autobots are wary of him because he you know, almost killed tailgate and cyclonus. At the end of the issue have Thunderclash wake up. And get First Aid home already!
    I give this issue a 1 out of 5.

The issue seemed to deliberately troll those who had vested interest in the outcome to the cliffhanger to the last issue which will no doubt cause a stink here but aside from that it was a solid issue with plenty of new development to skids and rung so it just about wins in my opinion.

Well kinda bummed that the cliffhanger from the last issue was resolved so quickly and so simply. But now another one has taken its place, and I'm sure this one isn't going to be pushed off to the side next issue.

I'm guessing that Sunder is the enemy described in the issue 49 solicitation. And he sure is terrifying, makes me think of the movie Caroline.

And Rung is hiding something, but what is it?

    Now what did
    Tarn
    make Skids do??? What?

Well next issue is the last one before the finale, let's hope it's a good one.

I can't tell if new body Froid is more influenced by Beast Wars Transmetal Terrorsaur, or Prime Soundwave. When he had the eyes hanging around his neck his chest looked a lot like Terrorsaur's.

I started yelling "YES" when I got to the part
where it shows Cyclonus was alright
even though it was in the middle of my ceramics class. I'm also guessing that Sunder will escape next issue and wreck havoc on the ship considering what the January solicits said about a "vengeful god".
